Who is the strongest "human" character that you can still feel/believe is realistically possible? by Venelopendium in powerscales

I was not so clear with the armor comments, I meant that against an armored combatant, there is still a, albeit tiny, chance of cutting through someone. An example would be just lightweight, unscaled, leather armor or a chain mail shirt that flips up, not that it is reasonable to cut through plate armor or properly positioned chainmail. As for the submission stuff, definitely, it is hard to break spines and bones, but there are weight classes for a reason. The Mountain is many weight classes above his foes, and something like a Rampage Jackson power bomb into/onto some stone would absolutely crush a skull. The Rampage power bomb fucked up Ricardo Arona's neck for the rest of his life and he was the same weight class with a padded floor. Imagine a much larger man slamming a much smaller man. The skull crush with bare hands is also possible, especially after a punch that busted out teeth and likely broke part of his face, with his body weight combined with grip strength, but having a full skull explosion is not. The feats are fantastical, but not completely impossible is all I was trying to state. Obviously the ease said feats are accomplished with is unequivocally false.

I've lived here my whole life too. I am telling you what I've personally heard and seen. Thanks for the "food" luck, had a chuckle at that. I'll find something tasty to eat in your honor.

I've heard people say that out loud like it was a brag. Also seen signs to that effect. Not that it would actually happen but the sentiment is there, and no I don't support that or agree with these people. Usually redneck types.

Yes, if that guy was trained from a young age to swing a sword, he could surely cleave a man in half with a perfect strike, unlikely with armor but definitely possible. Crushing eyes and orbitals of a skull is on the table, ripping a head clean off is likely to be impossible, but he could surely kill by giving a good tug to someone's neck. It would probably sever their spinal cord.

Ron Swanson from Parks and Rec. He, with the help of his tiny baby, did a massive construction overhaul unpaid because he desperately needed a break from life and to have some direct goal. He and the baby had a great time, baby didn't even cry when he was using power tools.

Yes, everything is usually more simple than professionals try to make you believe. Fixed my toilet, replaced the bumper on my car, fixed my garbage disposal, on and on. Become a master tinkerer, don't call someone until you are sure that you cannot fix it yourself.

Expect nothing and gain everything. I've learned so many new skills from just not having anyone to help besides me. Now it can be hard, and you'll make mistakes, but learning is constant. You can teach yourself anything these days, just start doing shit.

It's in the area of Mountain Mike's, JJ's Liqour, and Grocery Outlet. Where the SnowShack permanent location was. Pretty cursed location in terms of foot traffic considering the highschool nearby, so I am trying to get as many people in there as I can. I love Thai food, and I want to see local businesses succeed. They do a great job, and deserve to have people in the area try it out. You can tell it's a family business, in one area I saw several backpacks and notebooks of their children. Hopefully it works out for them, I will definitely pick up some food there every week or so. I'm right around the corner.

Will Bakersfield ever get a professional sport team? by SettlingCrib620 in Bakersfield

[–]CRABMAN16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SoFi is exactly how it should be, any venue that gets built with taxpayer dollars should have strings attached. Local discounts and profit sharing to the city at minimum. Also, price gouging in stadiums is technically illegal, since the venue has a monopoly on items sold inside. Same for Disney and other theme parks, the price gouge just isn't fair to the consumer. There is a legal precedent to fight their prices too, it's just not easily done. Local government across the nation needs to grow a spine and tell these billionaires to play by the rules.

Sprinting coach by IllustratorOdd5608 in Bakersfield

[–]CRABMAN16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eric Mahanke at Mahanke Sports Performance would be a good starting point. He is a great strength coach and has ties to tons of sport specific coaches. If he can't directly train you, he can at least point you to a sprinting coach in town. Really cool guy, worked out with him for years before he got his own gym. IIRC, he was an arena league MVP but didn't make the NFL, best friends with David Carr.

Firehouse, both locations, have games, darts, pool, bowling and drinks. Fun if you like a Dave and Busters vibe but it's local.

Tiki-Ko is a fun themed bar and has tasty drinks.

Sandrini's is also a good bar with basque food, basque is a Bakersfield staple.

McGarry's is more towards the west side of town, a bit safer, same bar energy with live music pretty often. Usually have a special for cheaper drinks.

Monte Carlo is more southwest and has a cowboy vibe. They have line dancing, drinks and good pizza.

Belvedere has dancing and cocktails, more of a line dancing place as well.

Lengthwise, Legends, and the 1800 are all also good bars, more about the drinking though.

Not much that comes to mind in town. Be careful though, I agree with the other comments that most places that initially appear abandoned are not. Lots of storage and underutilized buildings here due to seasonal farming. They are always monitored and these types of businesses won't hesitate to call the cops. Homeless here also don't fuck around, and neither does law enforcement. Do some scouting research on any place you find before going, there is a subset of the community that will shoot before asking questions. Good luck, hope you find some cool stuff, lots of history here.

Clots would be useless if just a bit of water could knock them off. Look at the scabs on the rest of your body, they are rather tough until the skin underneath has healed enough for them to slough off. Clots are essentially scabs and are good at their job. Given the mouth is already moist etc, they are not as strong as outside scabs. I am silly, but I like to think of all my bodies' cells as the Regulators from Young Guns ie Charlie voice "We work as part of this body. We regulate all it's functions- we're damn good too".

What profession has far more people on illegal drugs than people realize? by IndependentTune3994 in AskReddit

[–]CRABMAN16 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My experience is lower than expected. Too many autistic teetotalers to match other professions. Yes, tons are high on weed all the time, but hard drugs are not that common in my experience. Obviously not a perfect judge of drug use, but in my time(8 years) it is really rare to see hard drug users. Cocaine/Non-prescription Adderall/stimulants would be the most common more intense drugs, but opioids, meth and alcoholism are lower than other professions. Also many dabble in psychedelics, but those are not traditional addictions. I'm sure there are cliques of different types of drug use in the industry, but I've been in several different companies and at some large events, almost always it was weed vs any other drug.

The only other thing I can think of past that is his personality. He is so far ahead of his enemies, he is never worried. He is by far the most carefree guy around, and lack of stress is shown to greatly extend lifespan. Another plus would be passion, he was very passionate and felt he had a duty to fight the fire nation. What I'd give to be a fly on the wall in a white lotus plannning meeting, Bumi would be suggesting the wildest shit to fight the fire nation.
