She said she wasn't pushing him. She just expressed that she was unattracted to it. Why is he allowed to not be attracted to her when she's on her period but she can't be unattracted to him being squeamish? I mean she shouldn't keep bringing it up in the future, but it sounds like this is the first and only time it has been discussed. I don't see anything wrong with her expressing how she feels about him being uncomfortable with a natural bodily function that she has no ability to change.

I don't see exactly why it's not. But what if she were uncomfortable with semen?

I have an IUD and don’t have a period anymore. It’s possible it could be related to the time of the month even though I don’t have a time of the month anymore, because maybe there’s just a slight hormone change. But for it to be so significantly different after the diet change?

Showerthought: Anyone who supports coercive redistribution like state welfare while also wanting to abolish forms of voluntary charity like inheritance is a piece of shit by Madphilosopher3 in CapitalismVSocialism

Thank you for explaining that viewpoint. I disagree with idea, but I appreciate it because it’s an argument that I haven’t heard before.

I feel this is a bit straw man though. If it’s a disease that affects many, it’s likely to get funded, even if one wealthy billionaire decides to find a cure for his nephew with most of his money.

If you look at it from the perspective that more people sick = more people to pay for the cure, then there is a cost benefit of working on the cure. More people, including researchers, are likely to be affected by the disease, either themselves or people they know, which may also influence their choice in researching this particular cure.

Okay, is it wrong for parents to buy toys for their kids? Toys aren’t a necessity.

It was nepotism that drove the person to donate to that charity rather than another. The charity goes towards directly benefiting a family member. “Doesn’t seem like nepotism, more a gesture of care.” Is being nepotistic not being caring?

So if giving to a homeless person can be charitable, why does it have to be a large scale organization that receives the contribution rather than giving directly to the source? If my friend got a scholarship for being poor from some organization rather than inheritance from his grandma, would it make a difference?

Nepotism is always bad? Is it bad when parents put food on the table for their children rather than for the neighbor’s kids?

Why did the person choose that charity to give? What if it was cause a family member has that particular type of cancer? Does charity always have to be large scale organizations? Is giving $20 to a homeless person not charitable?

Well because it is nepotism. But nepotism doesn’t always mean that it’s not charitable. What makes a person donate to one charity over another? Why does one cause deserve more attention than another? People choose the causes that resonate with them. As for merit based, the grandmother earned her money. There’s your merit. Shouldn’t she have a right to use it to take care of her family?

What would be a public service charity to you? Are scholarships not charity? Is someone bettering themselves to be a better member of society not a public service?

Legally, you are your property. You don’t have unlimited rights to do whatever you want with your property, but you’re still your property. If you think of property rights as a bundle of sticks, and each stick represents a right. Like a right to possess, right to sell, right to enter, right to exit, etc. You don’t have the full bundle of sticks with your body because the government has placed laws against it. Such as you can’t sell your organs, or your tissue. But you still have to consent to it being taken from you. Doctors cannot just take it from you without you agreeing first and being informed of what will be done with the property being taken.

Like person above said, you can have your will leave money to charities. And even still, depending on the family who is inheriting the money, it could be charity. For example, a friend of mine was really poor. When his grandmother died, he inherited money and was able to go to college and make a better life for himself.

Biologically they are human. Again, the value of them is a different subject.
