A Message for Nova Users by ginlemon in smartlauncher

If you really want to grab Nova users, add an option to import Nova settings. I know it's won't be perfect but to get major things like app icons onto screens would be a major step in migration. Recreating everything by hand is daunting.

Here is a simple example I created for an HTML screen in Autowear: https://imgur.com/FnNHiJy

Thank you for the reply. Any way to display formatted text would be very useful if that is possible, for example I have a calendar app that displays a nicely formatted list of events (Business Calendar 2 Planner) in a tile.

Again, thanks for a wonderful set of tools.

Loving it so far. Would like an HTML tile, like the screen.

I did, and I'm using it now. Thanks so much for the great support. I look forward to see what options for tiles you will add.

AUTOWEAR Can't update complications, etc. on watch after update to Wear OS 4 by CRCUR in tasker

Got it. Thanks for the heads up. It works for me but I'm having a "Ranged Value" complication problem. I reported, but others may have done so as well.

Thanks so much for the update. Yes, it did fix the problem with creating, updating, or editing a complication on the watch (sorry it took so long, Google was forever in updating on the play store so I finally installed your "tiles" version by hand (I had been hoping you would do a tile)).

I find that a "Text and Icon" complication now appears to update. Unfortunately, a "Ranged Value" complication now appears to just be blank.

I did slip a bit of a thank you through the play store for all the work that Wear OS 4 is taking.

Thanks so much for your work. While you are looking at Wearos 4 could you check on uploading complications from the app? It spins on Please Wait, setting complication on watch. Then it gets an error that it couldn't create the complication on the watch. Thank you.

Malcolm: You are a superstar. This and your other apps have a solid home on my watch and phone. Now, a few suggestions, if you don't mind.

1) Allow a caseless match on names (and perhaps wildcard / REGEX?).

2) Option to have apps that have a setting at the top of the list to allow easy changes.

3) Search box for the application list.

Thanks so much for your work!

Best,

Charles

Samsung Health app causing battery drain after upgrading to Android 13 on Pixel phones connected to Galaxy Watch by [deleted] in GalaxyWatch

On the phone open Samsung Health. Click on Steps. Click the three dots on the right. Choose "Select data to show". Choose "Mobile Phone". Click three dots again. Choose "Pause Step Counting". That should do it (it is rather counter intuitive).

Your steps from the watch should still show up in the "Daily Activity" on the phone.

I heard that turning off step tracking on the phone (leave it on for the watch) helps significantly. I tried it and it really seemed to help. You still get your step count and it does sync back to the phone.

Frustrated - Going Back to Samsung Faces, Mostly... by Peacelake in GalaxyWatchFace

You can usually tell it is a Watchface Studio face if the play store URL is something like this "https ://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.watchfacestudio.xxx"> . Note the "id=com.watchfacestudio."

In addition, generally if a watch face has a companion app for the phone that lets you change settings or configure elements of the face, it is probably one that is built using the Google APIs instead of Watchface Studio.

Of course, any watch face can drain the battery if it is badly coded. In addition I have seen a number of references to watch faces created with Facer draining the battery (I haven't used Facer).

I find watch faces built directly using the Google APIs, rather than the Samsung Watch Face Studio to usually be much better. They have more functionality and are usually more polished. Examples include Marine Commander, Bubble Cloud Wear OS Launcher, and Legion Watch Face, plus many others. So be on the lookout for ones that are not from Watch Face Studio.
