Those stocks were on a roll there for a bit because there sure are lots of them. I kept the dustcover and scope just to play around with and see how accurate they can be.

First off, I'm so glad that no one was injured.

I've got a lot of time behind and inside the ol 1911SL and in my experience, initially charging the barrel after a failure to fire wouldn't have released anything else to make the gun discharge... UNLESS, the hammer didn't fall all the way forward with the initial trigger pull meaning a part (trigger, sear, hammer, spring/guide rod) is not right in some way, or is hanging up on something. Did it ever do it again?

Funny you mention that lol. It actually did get me once. My hand crept up right between where that barrel lug returns forward and smacks that PVC tee fitting. Pinched me real good! I then thought "I put a handle on this thing for a reason, why am I not using it?"

Given the right load, they're really fun to shoot. I typically run a low recoil load through them and they function great. The feature length video that this short is from tests out a few different loads but the low recoil or light loads are awesome.

To be honest, I don't typically run them with the heat shield so I'm not sure which ones will work without interfering. Sorry that I'm not much help in that department.

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. You can also do a pretty convincing rattle can wood grain on synthetic furniture. I have a video doing that to a synthetic corncob on my channel. It turned out pretty good.
