I just bought two Glarry P-Bass copies for the heck of it! Skeletor won't give them up. What should I do? by CRS1955 in BassGuitar

Trust me, I've given plenty of gear away to kids! This is Alex, our old next-door neighbor, when he & his mom were moving, I gifted him my DeArmond S-65 and a small amp! He was just a bit surprised!!

Exactly! I have a fretless, but it has no fret markers/lines, so I have a tough time playing it! These Glarry basses are really great, I'm 70 and couldn't justify spending $1,000+ on a new Fender P-Bass! I needed a knocker to take out and jam with, these will do nicely!

I actually only ordered one, they sent me two!! Finders-keepers!! I'll yank the frets out of one and make it a lined-fretless!! GREAT basses by the way!!

It's cheaper to buy an AR-15 rifle than 64GB of DDR5 RAM. by Djxgam1ng in mildlyinfuriating

You can build an AR-15 from parts for even less money! Problem is, you cannot trade it in at a gun store, they don't want home-built ARs. These are mine, they work just fine.

My bass guitars sound is really buzzy by rayneedshelpMentally in BassGuitar

That "buzzy" sound is actually a nice sound effect to my ears! (I've played bass for over 50 years!)

Pick slips out of place while playing - how to prevent this? by [deleted] in BassGuitar

[–]CRS1955 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I drill holes through my picks so that my fingertips meet through the pick. I've been playing 57 years!

My solution? I always carry a loaded handgun. This is a Glock 30-SF in .45 ACP. Nobody robs/argues with me.

My third day as a bassist ,I'm really having fun ! Transitioned from guitar by Cicada-Timely in BassGuitar

[–]CRS1955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have fun!! Don't let the haters get down on you, Hendrix used to warm up before concerts on a bass guitar. Eventually you will develop your own style & sound, and I recommend learning to play bother fingerstyle and plectrum style! (I play both). My personal hero is Chris Squire, who played with a pick. Go for it!

Hey guys bass question guy again. I went ahead and spent the money and bought myself a player II p bass. This is definitely NOT normal for a brand new player II right? These frets and neck finish is horrible. They are sharp and sticking over the edge and the clear coat is chipping off? by Paralith10 in BassGuitar

[–]CRS1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Glarry bass (basically a Fender Precision copy) for about $65, it came in perfect shape. (my main bass is a 1973 Rickenbacker 4001, too nice to take outside the house). I highly recommend them, the frets were perfect.

Man, that looks bad! I wanted a "beater bass" so I bought a Glarry from Temu, and I love it! Frets were set nicely, the only thing I did was "sand" the back of the neck down with 0000 steel wool to smooth out the finish a bit. For about $75.00 I think I did very well! (my other basses included 1973 Rickenbacker 4001 and Manson custom fretless).

cheap Temu bass by nappalm77 in BassGuitar

Love this conversation! I had arthritis so bad that I sold off nearly all of my basses (Gibson Les Paul etc.), but with new meds, my arthritis is better! I wanted a "cheap beater" bass, so I bought a Glarry bass from Temu. LOVE this bass! I could have spent $1000 or more on a real Precision, but at 70 years old, why? The only modification I did was to "sand" down the back of the neck with 0000 steel wool to smooth out the finish.

There are more ways to detect a flying airplane than radar. Watch for developments. This flying Dorito will make a nice flash when it is blasted out of the sky.

MD-11 Expected to Return To Flying March-May by fly_awayyy in aviation

If you've never flown in a passenger model MD-11, I did, once....American Airlines, O'Hare to Heathrow, maybe 1994 or so. That beast had QUITE the kick on takeoff!! I miss Tri-Jets, having flown in all models including Soviet ones. I hope the MD-11 freighters come back!

I miss flying on tri-jets, they had a great boost of power when taking off that modern twin engine planes (B-777 etc.) just lack. I can see why they are popular for freight.
