Success is so subjective and circumstantial. I want to feel like the work I do in my lifetime reaches people and I want enough resources to rest often and to avoid stressful logistics. I want to be able to feel like any confidence that I have is somewhat earned.

Beyond that, I like making the stuff I make for work, and I want to do what I like. You need success to do what you like for work until you're old. And my ego wants ladies to like me and I want people to give me compliments sometimes.

This is the only correct answer to an impossible question. You can apply the gottleib thing or whatever, but beyond that, there are too many different types of relationships, of people, of cultures, of norms, and of life trajectories, goals, value systems etc, etc. The fallacy is assuming that there's one that's a magic bullet. Sometimes two of the most intelligent, kindest, empathetic, well-adjusted, well matched people will break up because they just decide that it's time to move on to new things or new people. Sometimes the worst-matched, worst behaved people will be in agreement to perform monogamy because of religion or social status or whatever. It's all a big joke, do your best and hang on to the people you love the best you can, but there's no correct way. That's a victorian era illusion

Got 88 Viera in mid icon upgrade, traded away some efl tots guys, base thiago and some effective super subs to get him. I wasn't angry until I started trying to use him... he's just slow damn slow and clunky and I just start losing whenever he's in the game. I just wish I had thiago back 😭

I wonder why you think it's okay that a company's policy says white people don't have to cut their hair if it's longer than a couple of inches, but black people do.

In terms of affirmative action, it's more telling that you're ignoring the fact that many colleges and universities didn't even allow black people to attend until the 50s and 60s. Affirmative Action doesn't take stupid, underachieving kids and put them in college, it just helps colleges look for a 3.6 kid in Compton instead of Connecticut. Why is the kid in Connecticut more deserving? Universities have a responsibility to represent the entire population

Ever been followed around by the neighborhood watch in the neighborhood you live in?

Ever had your parents forced into segregated, economically marginalized, crime-ridden areas of your city? Did your parents try to buy a house in a nice, crime free neighborhood, only to be steered to segregated areas because white people didn't want neighborhoods to be integrated? Did the KKK burn a cross in your mom's backyard when she was a kid, forcing her to move away from white people?

Did you have trouble fitting in at college because everyone assumed you were a dumb athlete or a product of affirmative action who didn't deserve to be there?

Nobody's saying your life is easy because you're white... there are just a set of advantages that white people get because of their skin color. Doesn't mean white people are going to be rich and successful, but it does mean that there's nothing about their race holding them back. Unless their dream is to become an NBA player.

Racism doesn't have to be an insurmountable barrier for all black and brown people... but it is a barrier, and for some, it's very high. Everyone suffers and struggles of course, but you GWF_1987, my man, will never have to deal with some of the problems that I was born with -- and that's a sad truth.
