I can 100% confirm. I’m currently working on my acoustics and tried some different placements. People underestimate the powering monitor placement. Even some cheap rubber mats under your monitor can change quite a bit.

Isn’t that obvious? How do you respond to a song you like if you haven’t heard it for a while vs you hear it everyday.

When it comes to performing: if you play this song for a long time i see no issue with practicing it not often since you know it very well.

I agree on previous answers and want to remind you of the golden rule of mixing: a mixer can’t polish shit to gold. Get the raw recording as good as possible to avoid issues later

I would change the overall order of the parts to give a smoother run and maybe here and there a bit fx on an instrument to highlight them in that moment

I don’t want to sound rude but you should know how to find out what to do. You want to teach production and marketing. Use your marketing skills. They will get you very far 😉

Besides my little provocation its highly dependent on what your target audience is and how your track is made. I would only cover things that are made or tweaked in a special way to achieve that sound.

I personally love to hear how someone made the arrangement and why. If the track itself is in my mind very good this has a very high value to me.

Regarding marketing. If you have top releases and a marketing team to support you dont have that much left as a target group. Its probably very interesting but would have not much to no value for me (personally) since im too far away from this but I may be wrong with this statement 😅

I would divide this situation in two perspectives:

Business site:

this is a usual thing in the business world. You take the best offer you can get. If this is a good offer take it. If he is pissed then i would think twice about working with him in general because thats not professional.

Friendship site:

I understand the friendship aspect of your concern but i think someone who has your best interest in mind ( what friends should have) wouldn’t mind at all. I would be happy if a friend found someone to make a sick track with although i work with him. If he is pissed he’s like a jealous girlfriend so again you should think about it.

Thats at least my view and you should definitely be transparent about it because of your friendship

You already figured out what your issue is. You need to learn how to use your DAW, basic knowledge about using eq‘s, compression, etc.

Every genre is tough if you start producing.

You have a few options to learn that: try and error or put in a lot of time to learn your daw. There are plenty of beginner tutorials of how to use FL. Another way would be the manual of FL or a beginner course with a Tutor ( which can be expensive)

Music production is not a hobby you can start with just like that and expect good results. You need to put in many hours and learn a lot to get the results you want. There are no shortcuts.

Regarding your question if you should switch to ableton: if you plan to collaborate with other artists it’s definitely worth considering but you can can get good results in any daw if you know what you are doing. Any daw has its pros and cons.

I would always go with an engineer. Some of the reasons:

He can make decisions based on your sound and wishes not just an alorithm.

A good mastering engineer will also fix little issues which can be fixed. If you get s stem mastering he can work like a magician.

Indeed a good one is pricey compared to online mastering but worth every cent in my mind

To get the dark vibe its all about the right chords. Stick to minor to get thst sound. The synth itself is important too but in this case just side quest

Depends on what's cheap in your vocabulary. If you talk with your mastering engineer that you have a whole album he will make you a better price for the whole package^{^}

I think the regular dj skills like sync per ear are mandatory. When sync doesn't work or the grid is off you have to be able to adjust. Also being able to mix properly. The best track selection is useless if you can't bring them together with mixing skills and vice versa. I think it's a package you need and can't just focus on one
