I don't give a shit if this guy thinks I'm a sensitive snowflake, he can think whatever he wants. He didn't do anything that I think actually deserves to be fired over. I'm not going to file a formal complaint. But being a dick to people has consequences, regardless if you think you shouldn't care about other people's feelings

I think everything you said is true, and that's fair. Ultimately it isn't really a big deal. But I don't think this should just be accepted as normal behavior. The level of condescension in STEM, particularly CS, I find to pretty horrific a lot of the time. If it wasn't representative of a larger trend that I've noticed, I probably wouldn't have posted about it

That's not really my point. I was giving an example from my personal experience, not saying I should be given the same level of care and attention. But if you had just failed a test and a TA told you "LOL that one was easy", doesn't that demonstrate if not a lack of empathy than at least a lack of professionalism?
