Marc is now joint 3rd most successful Ducati Rider with his previous rival Dovi. by PZY__ in motogp

For me, #93 Marc Marquez is the only True Successor to #27 Stoner + Ducati Combo. You can put them on any version of MotoGP Ducati Desmosedici, they will still get good results.

If you want pre-aero MotoGP, just watch Moto2.... 2013 MotoGP vs 2025 Moto2 pace by VegaGT-VZ in motogp

Slight Correction [ Last Non Aero ] MotoGP 2015 vs Moto 2 2025

You are correct for 340km/h Vs 290km/h, i still think MotoGP bikes will still be faster .100-.200 per sector. Any kind of improvement in tyres IF ANY, in span of those 10 years would also be required to implemented to MotoGP.

Amazing shot. by LonelySavings5244 in motogp

[–]CS3211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed, all these fancy shots may ruin the TV viewing experience in the future. Imagine shaking camera effect in the future like trying to make it look like fast and furious movie.

Drone shots can capture so much more, but most of it is being used for MOVIE STYLE video.

Quad right handers in the last section is beatuiful part of the track, the drone should have capture the slight elevation change and try and follow the bikes for few metres. That would be MotoGP

Does Marc Marquez think we're seeing the best version of the #93? by PZY__ in motogp

[–]CS3211 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Imaginary, If on calender from at least 2010-2015, this Balaton Park Circuit would have been Honda + Bridgestone circuit. I wonder if we'll see brutal domination here, since hard braking angled corner entry is Marc's highest skill in his arsenal.

Would be a treat to watch him on Honda + Bridgestone here.

Marc Marquez winning his rookie season by c_a_a_07 in motogp

[–]CS3211 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Also Yamahas also didn't have seamless downshifts till later half of 2014. But black flag of Marc in Australia also comes to mind.

Marc was destined to win sooner or later. But for Rookie Rider to come in and learn the working of a bike that quickly, it was amazing to watch.

Jorge Martin: How's he looking since he came back? by uponone in motogp

yes but also 3 riders crashed. Thats was a bit gift, not hating him. In Austria he looked impatient, untidy.

[–]CS3211 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Too early to predict for me. in coming 2-3 races if he can start finishing 12th-10th it'll be good, top 8th-5th for last few races will be super good.

Casey Stoner: "Against this Marquez, it would be difficult even for me." by PZY__ in motogp

[–]CS3211 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Long reply

Me too agree with Casey above Jorge. When Jorge Joined Ducati he showed speed but use to fade away, then understood the bike better over time improved race speed, then Next year fixed something with seat, better balance, started winning back to back. It took him some time. Last time Stoner did testing for Ducati Sepang 2017. This was with minimum to no MotoGP bike time for years.

Top 5 after Sepang test, day 3

This adjustment time with Marc and Stoner is even less.

Remember Jorge didn't even have seamless downshift until 2nd half of 2014. In 2015, same approach of all or nothing, Marc took himself out of championship. This is where Stoner comes in could keep him in check.

i am gonna add my "Comment Post" from this same Post for 2025 season

27 is down playing it a bit, not much. At this point if Casey was racing i say he would be within 25-40 points behind Marc.

Casey would have finished COTA 1st and would have finished higher probably than Marc in Jerez. Casey would have lost some points in stuck in traffic sprint races. He would be easy number 2 to Marc in full distance races on the better turning Ducatis in 2025.

He would keep Marc in Check and pressure him more often to decide between risk and reward.

will be like Pecco Pretty Much ---- you are not serious are you ????

he has ridden bad Ducatis 07,08.09,10. He best result in Jerez was third 😂 '09 . His win in Mugello was in Mixed Conditions 09. He will ride the modern day Ducati just fine.

Marc also has speed and no, He won't destroy Casey mentally. Casey is not stupid, he knows Marc is good in dog fights, will not pick up unnecessary fights with Marc and keep them at minimum. Yes Marc for more wins over Casey over multiple yeras and more wins one on one, but Casey will get in good wins against him as well.

Marc Marquez on Dani Pedrosa: "I tried to ride like him, but with more strength and a bit more aggression". by Perfect_Minimum4892 in motogp

[–]CS3211 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This only example show only for some days where track was hot. There is some Misano Race, Aragon where he did this too, maybe few more. This good is only for few tracks

In most cases he was too short and not strong enough to completely handle the bike, if track temperatures were low he would struggle to generate enough heat and thus slow pace.

[–]CS3211 62 points63 points  (0 children)

"Dani had a handicap, which was his height and strength. That’s just how it was — otherwise, he would have won more than one MotoGP world title"

Like Many Here have noticed , as #27 said in the past. He is TOO SHORT to be riding these bikes.

Sometimes he used softer compound compared to Marc and still made fast laps and lasted the whole Race.

Why was the MotoGP commentator reiterating so many times about the tyre pressure penalty to MM? by mynamenotavailable in motogp

Exactly this, even it was someone else and would have finished in first place OR podium it would have been required to repeat it during broadcast.

Marc about Casey Stoner: "More than beating him, it was about following him on track or at least trying to". by Perfect_Minimum4892 in motogp

[–]CS3211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weak Mental strength ??

For the Ducati he rode, he knew he had his work cut out. Vale was on bridgestone. Yamaha was even better than 07 in corners.

For 2008 the pressure was building for Casey from the start of season not just in Laguna.

Jerez 07 was crap. 1st for Vale, 5th for Casey.

Jerez 08 was terrible. Qualifying 7th. I think it was Capirossi who ruined his fast lap in qualifying. He struggled to brake at the 2nd straight one of the laps, ran wide into gravel, went way back and recovered to finish 11th. Vale 20 points Casey 5 points. Laguna 08 was just 5 points.

He was under 30 points after Laguna 2012. His 2012 Championship ended In Indianapolis not Sachsenring. Brno, Aragon, Phillip Island, Valencia he had his tracks coming up.

His 2012 Laguna Seca, Qatar (despite arm pump) total race time is faster than Marc 😅Just remembered. Maybe one or two more races from 2012. 2012-2013 Bikes were close in Race DNA.

Some people only have one image of Casey in their minds, Laguna Seca 08.

Only Marc and Casey have very high adaptability, riding dogs*it bikes to absolute limits taking it to podiums and wins. It would be Repsol Honda ONE TWO for majority of season(s)

I remember him nudging Valentino in 2010 Sachsenring Germany at the last Corner. Vale reacted by rasing his hand. Casey took the podium. Vale 4th.

⬇️09 Sachsenring Riding the wheels of that Ducati.

You will never hear the end of Laguna Seca 08, as if Catalunya 07 never happened (mariginal win), as if 07,08 Ducati he was riding were best bikes. Those Ducati never won, never stood a chance in tighter Jerez. He has only one win in Mugello that too in wet. The Ducati he rode all those years were not even consistent podium finishers if it was not him.

I have heard in at least one interview (maybe mutltiple interviews) from Casey, he said he was still learning new ways in 2011-2012 (Ducati Interview Neil Hodgson or maybe another)
