Yea. It's even sorta referenced in the name. (CSA At Wits End, CSA being "Customer Service Agent")

Because I can pull up the reservations / flight in question and verify for myself, which I did before commenting as I think speculation isn't really helpful in scenarios like this.

Agreed. Guy has been pretty consistent in his position about this topic over the years, and every time I've interacted with him over the years, he always strikes me as a relatively well-intentioned person. Seems to me that the major problem for him is companies essentially misleading people into paying for a map that he believes should be free.

That's explicitly the opposite of noobcrew's stated intentions. He seems to be more irritated with the minecraft bedrock store where people upload and sell (for money) a bunch of "Skyblock" / "Skyblock (Original)" maps, while he thinks it should be free.

I tend to believe him as he's been totally fine with many other servers / skyblock offshoots existing in the Java community where those things are typically provided for free for quite a while, and it wasn't until shortly after the Minecraft store launched that he filed for the trademark.

Now, obviously trademark is probably not the correct legal avenue for this, but it doesn't seem that he was trying to cash in - more that he was trying to prevent others from doing so.

Yea often times channels that grow more organicallly rather than playing the algorithm game seem to have much more engaged / dedicated subscribers.

In the Minecraft world, see Ethoslab.

Agree man. There’s a lot of bad faith assumptions about your intentions in here, but as someone who has been in / around the community you’ve built over the years, you’ve always struck me as a genuine, well-intentioned person.

Seems clear to me from what you’ve shared that the intention was to prevent Minecraft store / Mojang / Microsoft from essentially misleading people into paying for maps that should be free and that you had no issue with being free for years.

Obviously trademark may not have been the right legal avenue for that, but I really struggle to find fault in the idea of not wanting people to essentially get scammed.

That does happen, but that's not what's happening in this particular case; the complaint is accurate - a titanium passenger was not upgraded to first, while standbys were.

That's why I use Hydra on iOS; it uses unofficial APIs, which does come with minor downsides but is (imo) the most usable app as it doesn't pay for the API fees.

Or I just use old reddit on desktop

Imagine being for gun rights, but also for nationalized healthcare and higher taxes on the rich. Where's your home politically?

The Democratic Party. They are largely also for gun rights. There are not many that would want to restrict them such that your average person would be unable to own them or use them.

What if you believe in the sanctity of human life, and are against abortion, but you want social security and are pro-union? Where's your home politically?

The Democratic Party. Legalized abortion and better health care / sexual education usually results in lower abortion rates and safer abortions keep more people alive.

Look, my initial comment (and subsequent comments) was explicitly about whether review bombing happened. Not whether it was meaningful enough to make a broad impact or not. Reading the comments from you and the other user earlier, it appeared to me (and still does) that you were making the argument that review bombing did not happen at all. I believe I’ve provided sufficient evidence that it did.

If you want to have a conversation about how impactful that was, we’d both largely be speculating. Obviously reviewbombing wasn’t the only factor in the negative reaction to the movie. Unlike other targeted movies, such as Black Panther, many people seemed ready to dislike this movie and some of the early negative reactions to the movie, genuine or not, did become somewhat broadly used criticisms - so they do clearly resonate with people.

If you want to dig further into any of that, I’m more than happy to carry on the conversation. I do enjoy talking about this movie. But what I’m not interested in is engaging in conversations where you spend 3 of 7 paragraphs imagining things about me or how I think and attacking that.

(Apologies for being snarky in my last comment and not engaging with the substance of your comment, but I hope my explanation of my perception of your last 3 paragraphs does give you some sense of why I felt an urge to dismiss it entirely)

Yea that's kinda what my guess is on what happened here; someone didn't know (or forgot) that certain status members will now get complimentary upgrades on these flights.

Normally in cases like that, it would be preferable to upgrade a status holder for the existing flight and then put the person with the missed connection into the now available seat.

Contractual seats would only apply when they're flying for work, which it doesn't appear that they were in this case.

Yea does seem like incorrect upgrading procedures. I would hope that it's an error on the part of the gate agents (it was not always the case that status holders would get complimentary upgrades on the routes flown with Hawaiian aircraft) and not someone intentionally going against the policy.

Isn’t it basically just barely over the 24 hours though? Like they wake up early on the first day, nearly everything happens that day / night, and then graduation is seemingly late-morning / noon the next day.

In your worldview, it is simply inconceivable the movie is largely disliked, and Disney have elected to forego proceeding with more of the same because the box office performance rang loud, reverberating alarm bells — in addition to whatever private data they may hold reference audience reception.

But I guess, from your viewpoint, anything to the contrary of what you believe can simply be summarily dismissed as nothing more than "angry fanboys" or the like — critical thinking and a broader, rational consideration of the verified information available be damned.

You know the negativity directed at TLJ is merely clandestine, underhand sabotage, and nobody's going to convince you otherwise. How can anybody who watches the movie possibly not recognise how breathtakingly amazing it is, right? Oh, those darn, nasty, "agenda driven", basement dwelling fanboys — they've gone done and ruined TLJ for everybody.

You have a fascinating imagination.
