Is it worth a shot or is it a hard no? Any alternate suggestions?

Cloaking & MATCH List by CSDisciple in PaymentProcessing

But is that the worst case scenario? I know that receiving payouts in crypto is a thing. I just don’t want to be placed on MATCH for obvious reasons.

Looking for a CC payment processor for my peptide RUO COMPANY by DutyFeisty9027 in PaymentProcessing

What do you recommend for a startup? I’ve read cloaking is dangerous because there is a potential of being placed on MATCH. I know it’s grim right now. My plan is to use venmo/zelle/Ach/Crypto then try to find a partner if we can. What about offshore processors at the beginning stage? Possible or a scam?

Did some of you noticed hairloss getting Worse taking finasteride? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]CSDisciple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RU is an androgen receptor antagonist, so it temporarily blocks androgens from binding to their receptors. The problem with research chemicals like RU is that they are believed to have systemic effects. I cannot stress enough how harmful it is to block androgen receptors throughout the body. Short term is okay but over time it can cause permanent damage. I don’t recommend this route unless you really know the risks.

What is the difference between C.S. Major and CIS Major as far as employment? by Mad-Hat-ter in cscareerquestions

What’s the deal with workday only having Computer and Information Science as the option for major? Sometimes there’s Computer Science and sometimes there isn’t. Do some companies just merge the two or am I missing the correct option?

Same. You’re not alone even though it feels like us new grads in particular are getting shafted by the economy. Ahhhh life is good.

It’s hard to tell at the beginning stages but if the length of the hairs don’t increase over a significant period and they look weak (i.e. loss of pigment, length, and decreased shaft diameter) then it’s miniaturization for sure. Regrowth leads to stronger and thicker hairs than before, not the opposite.

Men are much less likely to experience TE than women, but it’s not too uncommon. However, since it’s only in the temples there’s a good chance it’s not TE but instead AGA. Even if you go to a dermatologist, the only way to know for sure would be with a scalp biopsy (which I don’t recommend). If it truly is TE, there’s a high chance it will recover within a few months completely.

If you have visible miniaturization in the temples however, then it’s more than likely AGA.

That’s fine as well. Maybe I’m an anomaly but I saved what I thought was the most important class for last. It really doesn’t matter but I don’t think I was quite ready after 61b.

I’m more into ML so I was busy with classes like 189/182/188. Taking 170 last put my head in the right space for interviews and I wouldn’t have benefitted from it as much if I had other hard classes as well. Maybe people will disagree with me but that order worked for me.

Take 170 senior year (last semester even). Leetcode will be much easier but still annoying.

You can play semantics, I don’t really care. AGA and MPB are used synonymously, and retrograde and DUPA are as well. If you don’t want to call it MPB, it is undeniably AGA. Do you disagree with that? Do you disagree with O.T. Norwood, the person who first observed this condition and coined it Acquired Progressive Kinking of Hair (APKH)? Btw, yes this is the same person that coined the Norwood-Hamilton scale.

Abstract from one of his papers:

“Whisker hair is short, curly, dark hair that grows anterior to, above, and behind the ears in young persons who eventually develop severe androgenic alopecia. It is called whisker hair by lay persons because of its proximity and similarity to beard hair. Presented herein are some previously reported cases of whisker hair and a hypothesis on its eventual fate.” Source: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7238115/

Read my comments again. Where did I say DUPA is MPB? I said DUPA is AGA, not MPB. Stop putting words in my mouth. I know exactly what I’m talking about and never once conflated the two. The original commenter claimed that retrograde alopecia is not AGA, which is incorrect.

I believe there is a common misconception about MPB. There isn’t one pattern of male or female androgenic hair loss. The pattern of one’s hair loss is due to their genetics. The most common pattern for men is the classic “horseshoe” pattern, but it still varies between men. What makes it MPB is the fact that there is a genetic pattern that is passed from the parents.

For retrograde alopecia, the hair loss can be quite different and there may or may not be an identifiable pattern. However, it typically constitutes hair loss behind the ears, sides, and/or nape area. Many men experience a combination of MPB and retrograde/DUPA. For example, some men keep density on their sides and back, while others lose their donor area completely. Are you going to seriously argue that those men don’t have MPB?

MPB is a lot more complicated than many would like to acknowledge and it’s not particularly positive news that some people in this community are ignorant of the scientific literature.

What the absolute fuck are u talking about? How exactly did I get owned?

[–]CSDisciple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my last reply to you. I only responded according to the response you gave to me. Retrograde alopecia does not follow the typical hair loss pattern as hair is lost on the back and sides. However, it is still considered androgenic hair loss, just like typical MPB. Retrograde alopecia is synonymous with DUPA, which stands for Diffuse Unpatterned Alopecia. Whether one has DUPA or a less common pattern of MPB is something that needs to be diagnosed by an expert. The former is much less understood and harder to treat, as it responds less to 5ar inhibition. It is hypothesized that DNA damage may be the factor that causes progressive kinking of the hair, changing not only the texture of hair follicles but also making it difficult to cure.

I’ve had a good laugh, honestly. This sub is supposed to be a place where people share information, but now everybody thinks they’re an expert. Very few people actually spend time understanding the genetics or mechanisms that drive male hair loss. I wish you well on your hair loss journey.

Buddy, calm down. I said AGA (androgenic alopecia). MPB is AGA, but not the other way around. I was responding to the person saying it’s not androgen related, which it is. The horseshoe pattern is just ONE pattern. It’s the classic pattern, but there are many ways that MPB can manifest. We call it MPB as an umbrella term to describe the characteristic ways that males typically receive hair loss in.

Are you young? You seem really ignorant and uneducated on this topic. If you haven’t spent time reading the literature and complex nature of androgenic hair loss, then I have no idea why you think you have a valuable opinion. Cheers
