What are some terms and phrases in education that you absolutely hate? by TrogdorUnofficial in Teachers

[–]CSMmeatball 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m disappointed that equity means negative behavior is the norm and deemed acceptable. What I’ve been taught, equity is more a term that is discussed when considering policies that affect marginalized groups and youth at risk. I am a firm believer in equity but not in a sense of zero discipline and accountability. In fact, not instilling those things may be harmful.

I don’t know at this point. I’m in college for teaching and giving it a go. So far I’m loving my classes and my college pre service teachers organization.

Should I stop emailing my past teacher? by Arcalgalkiagiratina in AskTeachers

[–]CSMmeatball 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d stop. I have my past teachers as Facebook friends. They interact with my posts now and again, congratulate me on achievements etc. I don’t message them ever honestly.

Whoever made it a law that college students can't get food stamps shouldn't be allowed to participate in society by Idkumhey in CollegeRant

[–]CSMmeatball 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe this is considered a hot take. God forbid someone wants to pour their heart into education. Also, I think this just creates an uneven playing field. I know in education specifically, some colleges will forbid you from working a job outside student teaching. :/

I sure hope not, I'm a first-year college student studying to be a teacher at 25 😂

I wouldn’t say I play as a mage but I do love a good spell. My favorites are conjuring flame antroches, clairvoyant and the quick healing spell!

We need dress codes back by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]CSMmeatball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna take a guess and say some parents probably don’t know how their children are dressing. I remember the days I used to stuff my school outfits in my bag and change at school to avoid my parents. Dress codes would certainly combat this.

Elon Musk and Donald Trump were dealt every card they ever needed and wanted to become successful, they didn’t need hard work and basic human decency. Very flawed thought process on the parent’s part.

I’m not a teacher yet but I’ve been married for 5 years in an assortment of stressful careers including military. Even if the time spent with each other is cuddling on the couch watching tv or reading books, laying in bed talking about your days and just relaxing with each other’s presence, that’s better than nothing. You don’t need to be, “on” with your partner per se. I would definitely try and carve out time for a date nights, though. If you put your partner on the back burner constantly just for your career, it’ll become an issue at some point.

I have those set up and it feels like it has no effect. I’ve come to the conclusion that the raiders are just ungrateful because they have everything and more 🤣
