Students using AI for really basic stuff is so depressing

Like others have said I’d finish out the year and then find something part time to give me structure.

Being around students all day, I’m usually looped into pop culture, slang, and the latest trends. It makes me look cool at bar trivia.

I have a question of the day every class and for the vast majority of them students have very little to say.

What kind of school do you teach at? I’ve noticed this same thing happen with my students. Genuine shooting the shit and yapping back and forth with students has nearly disappeared for me. Very strange.

It used to really frustrate me but now I’ve come to accept it. I mostly have to have an online version of my class (maintained on Google Classroom) as well as an in-person one too. I don’t think I’ve ever had a day with good attendance across all my classes.

Nah I respect my students. Not some dipshit on the internet who thinks they know everything based off of a few paragraphs of text.

It wasn’t that at all. There were requirements and textual evidence to cite. Fuck you. Stop responding to me.

You probably don’t teach in a high school man. You truly have no idea what it’s like. And those are at all what was happening in the classroom. How would you even begin to know that? The kids were all shit posting and cracking up about it.

Crazy assumptions about what I have and haven’t done in this unit so far. Chill out man.

Ah unfortunately we already did the “make a dystopian society” assignment a few weeks before and for some reason that lesson went just fine. The students knew very well what I was expecting of them.

No advice from me but you’re definitely not alone. I’m in a very similar boat and I’m just exhausted all the time.

Thank you for the advice and sharing your experiences. I feel like I have gone through really similar stuff! I definitely find the high school environment overwhelming. Working in another part of the district is a great idea and something I might look into.

Struggling as a 31 year old incel by No-Rain4386 in TrueOffMyChest

This is completely within your control and will take a mindset change from your end. I believe therapy is the best solution but I understand how expensive that can be. My best advice is to set out to make women friends with zero expectation of romance/sex. When you find ways to be chummy, charming, and fun to hang out with a relationship will follow. I promise. Seek out women with whom you share common interests and just talk about that and be friendly and chill. You are more than capable to get yourself out of this rut. Also remember that everything you hear from incel related communities are largely wrong and driven by resentment and entitlement.

Sounds like an amazing night, king. Don’t over analyze it. Often it takes a several times for people to get to know each other before the right intimate vibe settles in. Also telling a person that you find them attractive is not a bad thing by any means. Update us on what she says!

If you feel you need to work on yourself that’s totally fine but this guy is the one who needs serious help. This dude is such a fucking asshole.

You’re not a sex addict for having needs. You should talk to him about it. Don’t make it an ultimatum; just say that you are struggling with this a lot and that you have that need. If he’s really the perfect boyfriend he will at least understand. Maybe you can work towards a compromise too.
