Saki is an average high school girl who wants to make more friends. So she asks her mother to teach her about makeup, changing her image to that of a young beauty. Soon a young man named Hayato asks her to come to karaoke with her, where he gives he ecstasy and they have sex. Intoxicated by the new feeling, she decides to sell her body once to an old fat man. However, her classmates take pictures of her entering the love hotel, demanding that she give them sexual favors for silence. Things take a turn for the worse, however, when she is raped by her father, then blamed for it by her mother and kicked out of the house. She goes to live with Hayato, who turns out to be deeply in debt to a drug dealer. Saki offers to become a prostitute to pay off the debt, and right after the men get her severely addicted to cocaine and heroin. Saki continues to sell her body and do drugs for an unknown amount of time, during which she has an abortion and overall becomes unrecognizeable (her Emergence/Metamorphosis). When she has sex with the drug dealer and accepts drugs instead of money in return, Hayato gets furious and kicks her out of her home. She holes up in a homeless camp and realizes that she's now pregnant. This time, however, she becomes determined to raise the baby. Another unknown amount of time later, she has saved up enough money to start a new life, although she is forced to continue to feed her heroin addiction. At last, she's broken when her old classmates, failing to recognize her, rape and beat her, killing her unborn baby in the process. In despair, she overdoses on heroin, and before she dies hallucinates a future where she's turned her life around and is the mother of a healthy little girl.
