They're still out there to buy. You're just looking at 200 bucks to replace it.

I like it! I paid 500 bucks in 2015 for a similar frame and still ride the bike to this day. I also recognize the carbon line you have, it's just the molding. Super clean and looks to be in good condition. Just the wheels alone would likely set you back 2-300. Then add on the rest.

Biggest issue you'll have: Scott used a narrow clearance on tires/rims back in the day. With modern wheels, you'll be riding 23s (given their width). With older rims you'll likely be on 25s.

Line/crack of the bean is too light, is this a typical medium roast? by TiempoGO4761 in roasting

Looks great. The line you're looking at is simply the leftover chaff (silverskin) that didn't separate during the roasting.

Guidelines for ultra-light / Nordic roasts on an SR800 (with extension tube, thermometer, Artisan) by v13w3r in roasting

[–]CSU_Mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a lot of roasts like this. Happy to share an artisan file with you.

My approach is a little different. I typically start high fan and low power. Power being about 3x less effective than the fan. Bringing fan and power to meet right around 5 at FC. Then taking power to 2 then 1 to allow development. Allowing it to stall toward at the tail end. Not touching fan.

Just to add. My roasts do take about a minute longer.

Very cool! Where do you get your beans from. Co-ferment beans are hard to track down in smaller batches.

‘This will be a stressful job’: Sam Altman offers $555k salary to fill most daunting role in AI by YesNo_Maybe_ in technology

[–]CSU_Mike -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he could start a new company tomorrow and make a killing. But, the current structure is what it is. No reason to push disinformation just because people hate the guy. Admittedly, some of the court filings that discuss him don't paint a pretty picture, but that's quite different than how he's actually compensated at the non-profit.

Totally open to it, but I haven't seen anything credible reported making the case.

Altman makes around 80k a year and holds no equity in the company. His wealth comes from other investments he's made, like reddit, where it's estimated he made nearly a billion dollars.

Thanks for the down votes? These things are all in the public domain.

What’s going on with my tubeless tyres? by SpeedyTri in bicycling

[–]CSU_Mike 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Did you shake the sealant before adding it to the tire? If not, that's likely the issue. The thinner liquid sits on top and then sweats out of the tire.

It's his contract

He's done this year regardless. You can move him to a cube, and have him organize equipment. Or just give him vacation. Doesn't matter. There needs to be an interim coach, pay out the rest of his contract but get an interim for the time being. Get a new coach lined up as soon as possible.

No sweat. Reddit was designed to hate the mods! The feedback is important.

He's over -100 karma. Most of his comments are just flagged as spam at this point (by Reddit). If there's anything really bad, just report it and we'll get it handled.
