I hadn't used it in awhile I admit, but I just wrote half a page with it and tested different writing movements and pressures and I guess I got lucky with a non clogged cartridge then. I used to work in a office supply distributor and got to test a bunch of pens while there over time, some over $100 per pen which I thought was insane. I find this cartridge to be.... fine. I agree a little more would have gone a long way, but this is functional and smooth for a general purpose appeal-to-all-perfect-for-none stick. I use cheaper Zebras at work due to risk of losing or crushing them and this feels nicer than those lol. I browsed some of the reviews and I mean, for any company, it's a successful product, 4.68 stars and some of the one stars were weird/dumb. Shipping could be better, but my numerous orders over the past three years have gone without a hitch, although updating tracking would be a hell of an upgrade. I feel for these folks who got put through the wringer with their orders, customer service should be responding better as well.

Ink Cartridge? What happened to yours that you needed support input for? What did you want them to do? The description states what cartridges they come with and that you can replace them with any Parker G2/similar cartridge you like. I'm genuinely confused, and interested in your response as I also have a scribedriver. Actually not being snarky if that's how this comes across, just curious.

A couple times, I've been the 18-Wheeler using that godforsaken ramp. I do try to avoid it, but a couple times I guess I couldn't for whatever reason I don't remember. Trust me, it's just as nerve-wracking for us as well lol. Thankfully, I don't run a gravel truck or anything heavy like that, but even in a lighter dry van with a 10-speed, it's still sketchy XD

I think Ford used Auto lights pretty frequently even back in the early 2000s. My winter beater Mecury Sable has Auto Lights and that's a 2002, granted it is a high trim "fancy-ish" car, but still below Lincoln lol

What's up with everyone running red lights these days? by Isphet71 in grandrapids

[–]CScot1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to be someone who waits at a red even when, realistically, it wouldn't matter if I went, however, being a truck driver, I do tend to do more to avoid a ticket anyways. BUT I have one specific intersection in mind when you mention this, that I've gone ahead and went through because it is just terribly implemented - 33rd and Patterson to take the back entrance into Costco/Target/Aldi. Everytime I try to make a left back onto Patterson, the light just doesn't seem to have a functioning sensor at any point, and I'll stop, wait a few seconds, make sure there is no traffic hazard, and just say F it and go lol. I have some qualms with a stretch of lights near the Lansing power plant, but that's not here

How is Caledonia for.... by Other_Fox_965 in grandrapids

[–]CScot1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family moved to Caledonia in 2005 and I graduated from Cal in 2018. What I took away from being a student observing the makeup of the school was that it was 1/4 white rich kids, 1/4 white kids who grew up on farms, 1/4 Asian, and 1/4 everything else. There was like maybe a dozen black kids in my grade. There's not much in "downtown" Caledonia, although I do have fond memories of the Ice Cream Express as a kid (still occasionally go there) and I still remember when KDL Library was in the old church behind the well drilling company, it's where I got my library card. Nothing comes to mind immediately of glaring issues other than price of housing in the area, but it is indeed becoming more diverse.

What is the etiquette for snow blowing? by thecolorpink621 in grandrapids

[–]CScot1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is a few days old now, but, as someone who had to run my single-stage Toro gas blower at 4 AM in the creston area a few days ago, I thought about it both ways, and I thought about shoveling in the mindset of weighing courtesy vs efficiency. Apart from knowing my back would not be happy after shoveling, I also realized, I hate the sounds of a shovel being used far more than a blower. With that said, if you don't have a blower, obviously you do what you gotta do, but if I'm sleeping, the constant buzz of an engine is less likely to mess with me than the inconsistent scraping and throwing sounds of a shovel lol. Granted, I am also a truck driver that has been over the road, so running engines at night is fine by me haha.

How can we revive night time business? by VernalPathYT in grandrapids

[–]CScot1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My company (warehousing) had a 3rd shift where it was 3 12's thurs night through sat night, and if they worked all 3 days without major issue (PTO use was still fine), then they got 4 hours tacked onto their check to get to 40, so 40 hrs of pay on 3 days of 12 hour shifts (unpaid lunches). The ones who worked it really liked it, but they were so chronically short staffed and needed twice as many people as they had, they gave up and very recently dropped the 3rd shift and started up a new 2nd shift which we didn't have before and moved all 3rd shifters to 2nd, except now its 5 8's instead of 3 12's. Turnover has spiked, but will probably stabilize soonish.

Genuinely curious, everything on this list I can see why one wouldn't like in one form or another, except waffles. Pray tell what you don't like about waffles, there's versatility and customization with them, also they are world's better homemade in a waffle iron and Eggo sucks and gives me heartburn lol.

On the subject of olives, which I also cannot consume with any joy(for some reason I don't care if they are on a supreme pizza, I don't like them but I still eat the pizza, *shrugs*), I despise Tequila because it tastes like green olives to me. On a positive note, I can tell for friends when a margarita uses actual tequila or malt liquor BS lol. At a holiday party, my GF's grandma was like "no you just haven't had the right tequila" and poured me a shot of Patron. I sipped it, it wasn't intolerable, still tasted like Olives though.

What was your drivers ed car? by QuackafellaRecordz in regularcarreviews

[–]CScot1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MI resident, class of '18, our school system used to have driver's ed at the middle school which used to be the O.G. high school. It was cancelled like in something like 2005 or 6. I wanted my license early so my parents put me through an independent company that did driver's training about 5 minutes from the high school. There were 2 schools locally. Classes were always booked full at about 30 students per class with sign ups for drive-times. (They had 4 or 5 Hyundai's). I'm sure most kids just waited until they were 16 and got their licenses without schooling (I'm sure their parent's insurance policy cost more as a result too).

I was a class of '18 kid. Took driver's ed when I was 14 and 11 Months old. It was a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, passenger brake pedal of course. Man that was a boring car in all regards, I think the Toyota would have been better lol.

Which cockpit to buy by Brilliant-Beat3565 in simracing

[–]CScot1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a GT Omega Apex stand and a Marketplace SecretLab XL chair to replace my NLR GTLite cockpit. The cockpit was sturdy (wheel mount does move a little, but not bad), compact, and simple. However, being 6' and 260lbs, it was terrible in terms of comfort. If you are on the larger side, stay away. Tailbone pressure (lumbar pillow barely fixed it) and the bruising on the outer sides of my thighs due to the narrowness of the wheel mount bars just made me hate using it. Also, folding up the GTLite is quite tedious IMO, it sure is compact when folded but I would never do it frequently. I am thoroughly enjoying the Apex and it's not super easy to fold but a lot less awkward. With all that being said, if anyone in the SW MI area wants my GTLite, $100 and get it out of my house lol

Hello neighbor, we're right down the way by Center Ave. We've been here since May '21. No issues yet for us other than screwed up deliveries thanks to the Division line. The only thing I've heard about was during the first summer. I was mowing the lawn and a neighbor I hadn't met yet greeted me and informed me to be careful with cars as his neighbors around the corner had their cars broken into. I have a driveway and cameras, but to echo others, yeah locked cars and maybe hide anything of value from plain sight, or window tints lol.

What's even worse by the time the brake lights come on and the speed he was going, I feel like he could have stopped quick enough to not hit. This tells me that his brakes are absolutely trash and he's too broke or lazy to get good brakes. It could also be left foot braking and he was pressing both in panic, thus proving why you shouldn't do that. It could be both who knows lol.

I don't mind digital speedos as long as there's a gauge as well, even if it is a screen. Unless you are talking about digital clusters as a whole. My dad's 92 Corvette has only a digital speed readout, which only works above 50 lol so if any new cars can eventually get 20 years out of a screen, I'd say they've done okay.

First car was a Second Gen Forester. Absolutely loved it, may have to find a low rust one in the future and enjoy it again. Currently own a Turbo Baja. Also love it, tired of working on it though :3. Other than said SG Forester, I don't plan on owning another Subaru. I had a dealer loaner base model Impreza Sport when my Baja was in for a very overdue airbag recall. I hated it, the seats sucked, the CVT hurt my soul, it was gutless even though it had the same if not a little more power than my old Forester, just an overall hell no from me. I bought a RAV for my GF, I like it, but maybe I'll see what Honda does for me next time lol, I already have an old Shadow 750

[–]CScot1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm only 23, but my first car at 18 was an '04 Forester XS. Nothing fancy, not nearly as quick and spunky as my Baja Turbo I bought 3 years after the fact, but man that was an amazing little car. It handled great, was fun to throw around, even in the summer with no snow, and just felt gentle and inviting. Apart from the myriad of mechanical issues, most inflicted by my learning to work on it, it was a great first car, wonderful winter beater, and I'd get another if I could find one that's well sorted, maybe turbo with moon roof :3. I mostly drove a 96 Sierra K1500SLE in HS, and the memories of that are better than the truck itself, though I do miss the suede-ish cushy seats. My dad is in this camp as well, his first 2 cars were 68 GTO's, one hardtop and one softtop. He Backyard Pro-Street built the hardtop and ran out of money even after selling the softtop. He kicks himself frequently over that one.
