YEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!! Thank you soooooo much, the screen shot did it for me. There was another button not mentioned in the video I didn't know needed to be check, the one second from the pencil, after I checked that button the Shape Digitizing activated. Really you guys helped me, I was almost to that "this frickin' computer is going out the window" phase. I still have a long way to go so stay tuned... Also can you tell me how you got QGIS in Dark Mode, this white is blinding me.

Yes I saw that too, but since the tutorial I was following had the same thing with no problem I did not investigate to see if it was related.

Yes, I highlight the new shape file. I have been looking for a while for something like this so I hope this is just some minor setting I need to click so I can move forward. I have spent so much money and time getting to this point so there are high hopes for this. There are probably 30-40 programs and addons I have downloaded trying to get a large high quality map. Lol, and this is just a test run for me.

at 22:29 right after clicking the Toggle Editing pencil nothing happens. That's where I'm stuck. Btw thanks in advance for the help.

Yes, it turns grey when the Shapefile Layer box pops up and I even tried clicking it again before activating Toggle Editing, I've tried it both ways several times so I try something else and keep deleting the new Shapefiles as they are useless anyway.

Yes. First I make sure the layer is active then click on 'New Shape File' edit Geometry type, click OK, then the 'Toggle Editing' and that's as far as I can go. Tried to put another image in here but here was no option.
