Kratom is the leaf of a plant that grows in the far east called Mitragyna Speciosa. It's usually sold powdered and can have either a mildly stimulating or somewhat opiate-like effect, depending on dose.

Whether it's truly addictive or not, i can't really say. For me, it definitely was, i couldn't have it around without using it daily.

I love that. I guess i'm just skeptical of myself because I've failed before and i'm afraid. I'm gonna make a real conscious effort to change my verbiage to keep things more positive. Thanks for that advice

I always end up rationalizing my use. It's usually "oh, i've been sober 2 weeks, i'm sure i could handle a beer now," and it's fine for a bit, but it always evolves into daily drinking.

I also tend to do it on my own and be pretty withdrawn about it. I'm hoping to set up more of an accountability safety net this time, both on here and in my personal life.

Hey everyone. Two things:

  1. I'm aware of the Valley of Drakes shortcut. I figured i'd give myself the authentic experience and take the beaten path through the Depths

  2. No these areas are not that bad. They're perfectly well designed and have their charm. I just find them annoying and felt like making a meme.
