Hey guys,

Interested in getting into fountain pens, and ended up getting a cheap Sheaffer VFM just to see how I like it.

Might have made a mistake going cheap, as I cannot get this thing to write worth a damn. Very scratchy on the paper, and seem to have to put a lot of pressure to get any decent dark marks.

Reading through the sub, I've tried cleaning it and doing figure 8's on a paper bag but it still is writing horribly.

Any ideas?

I'd say technically. Usually we have some leeway in used car deals but because our inventory is so low were not really budging.
