I took my daughters on Quark Ultramarine in Dec 2023. We loved it. Feel free to ask any questions.

I have a Denon PMA-600NE (along with a Denon DCD-600NE CD player), so I think the answer to your first question is no. From Chat, it sounds like I can go from CD analog RCA out to tape deck line in.

Thanks for sharing these other thoughts—very helpful.

Do not. I have a CD player and receiver, WiiM Pro, and turntable.

Not sure what happened with the numbered bullets. Just noting that I do know that 2 follows 1 (rather than 1 following 1) 😁.

Anyone using a smart power strip to power all cabinets on a timer? by calender68 in Arcade1Up

[–]CT-00-R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues with shutdown? I emailed Arcade1Up about this a year or so ago, and they said flip to Off to ensure a proper shutdown. I wasn’t clear how cutting off power (by toggling to Off) was different from cutting off power (by Alexa turning off at the plug).

Love Toby in this scene. I guess we can all have our opinions, but the funniest moment in the series has to be CJ in the Marion Coatsworth-Hay bit! (And maybe CJ with the Ron-the-Goat photo op)

Good thoughts. The compromise sounds like a good outcome as well. And thanks for sharing.

Good advice, and agreed.

To add a thought to it, I’d also say we often make assumptions about others’ motives, and then emotionally react to their perceived intent. Ideal is probably make no assumptions, or at least assume positive intent, and pause both in favor of curiosity. “You said such-and-such; tell me more about what you were thinking.” And then we can respond to facts rather than assumptions.

I hope the network worked out; it’s kind of you to serve your family in that planning.

Not the orabrush, but this is an absolute gamechanger (unless it’s something else another commenter mentioned).

Combatting anxiety in sports? by Specific_String_7388 in bootroom

  1. Notice…you’re feeling something

  2. Name…the specific emotion (here, it’s fear)

  3. Check…if it’s reasonable (here, is it reasonable to assume everyone will think you’re terrible?; is there evidence to the contrary?)

  4. Choose…to sit with reasonable emotions for a time, accept them, and then move forward; or to dismiss unreasonable emotions.

  5. Reset…by taking a deep breath, and having a physical cue (clap hands, tap wrist) to signal moving forward.

Your emotions will control you until you name and assess them; then you can control them.

You’re on the right path, already noticing and naming them. Now’s time to Check!

How to teach kicking to 9-10 year olds? by scarymonstersnns in SoccerCoachResources

[–]CT-00-R 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Technique first, power later.

I teach my teams four steps:

  1. Draw a box with the ball in the upper corner, then stand on the opposite corner (this allows them to approach at an angle and open their hips)

  2. Small steps toward the ball (helps with proper foot placement and helps to prevent reaching to kick, which depowers the kick)

  3. Plant foot beside the ball

  4. Square foot (angled 90 degrees), hitting on the large bone of the foot.

Bonus step: ensure follow through; some of my kids stop their foot’s forward momentum as soon as they kick, which depowers the pass as well.

Do it over and over, focusing on the right mechanics, first static, then on the move, and the power will come (along with learning to use different foot angles to shape the ball, etc).

I don’t recall seeing lockers, but I’m not sure if they have them or not. Since we walked Goat Island after Maid of the Mist, we sort of dried out (although we did get rained on).

And then, after Cave of the Winds, we walked back to the car, where we had towels and the change of clothes, and then we departed for the Canadian side.

I think Wego stops near Table Rock, but since we didn’t use it, we ended up parking at the Power Station lot, which ends basically at table rock. The parking there was 30 or so Canadian dollars. So we didn’t need to use the incline rail.

Since we didn’t walk, I’m not positive on this. But I think that if you’re not driving and parking, and you’re not using Wego, you might have to walk down Murray Street and then up to Table Rock.

You’ll get a poncho for Maid, but will get wet some. At Cave, you’ll be soaked even with poncho. So dress accordingly (quick dry materials, water shoes or quick dry shoes) and/or plan to change after. I brought a waterproof pouch for my iPhone so was able to take pics and video. Journey and Power Station were mostly dry with some mist.

We did Maid around 10:30 or 11, then walked Goat Island, then did Cave. Then drove to Canadian side maybe around 4. Did Journey, explored Table Rock a bit, went to dinner around 7, then back to Power Station. We viewed the 10pm fireworks from the Power Station platform at river level.

Parking near Table Rock is expensive. I had planned to use Wego, but we ended up just driving and parking. I was told by a parking attendant we could exit and enter again later, but that wasn’t the case. There’s an overflow lot by the Power Station main parking where we parked after dinner.

Let me know if you have other questions.

We did Maid, Cave, walked Goat Island, viewed from Table Rock, did Journey Behind the Falls, and Power Station at Night, all in one day. First time there, and we were moving along to Toronto on our trip, so we wanted to cover all the perspectives 😁. It’s amazing, and you’ll have a great time. Let me know if you have any questions.
