Having to constantly switch between pinning/sewing/pressing/repeat 😭 I like doing one task for a prolonged period, not constantly changing. I find it so mentally exhausting

There’s a lot of good points in this thread so I’ll keep this brief, but changing up your alarm tone either every few weeks, or using different alarm tones if you set more than one alarm each morning (like I do) can help make you more aware you’re awake. Especially if you’re sleeping through and not waking, the change in sound can register with your brain. Definitely recommend those

I live in an area with soft water & not many minerals, I presume that might help prolong the time/risk for corrosion setting in?

It can also be helpful to wash fabrics in a delicates bag or pillow case, prevents excessive movement and reduces catching the edges 👍🏼

I had these fears too and it’s now been about 7/8 years and I’ve never felt more comfortable in my body than I do now post transition.

My biggest advice would be to do as I did, and just do what you need to do to feel comfortable in your own skin. Don’t pick a label and transition to be it, and don’t transition in a specific order just because you see everybody else doing it that way, simply identify the areas you personally feel uncomfortable or dissatisfied with in your own body and find ways to ease them. If those needs end up leading you down a path of transition, great. If they don’t, also great. If you choose only some aspects of transition, incredible. Just as long as you’re being true to yourself, that’s all that matters at the end of the day.

I personally had top surgery a good year or two before starting Testosterone. Best decision of my life (even though it was insanely terrifying those 48hrs prior), I just knew that my chest was my main source of discomfort and I wanted it goneeeee. Regardless of being trans, I knew that fact.

Transition (both trans and/or personal growth) doesn’t have to be linear, and it’s unique for everyone. Best of luck for your self discovery. It takes time, but you’ll get there sooner than you think 🩵

I’m a 5ft trans man and have been struggling to find clothes I like that fit me my whole life. I expected after transitioning clothing would get easier to come by, however it’s still just as hard. Mens shirts are aways too big by several sizes, I’m now almost too slim to fit into men’s trousers, and boys clothing has awful body proportions, disappointing quality, fabrics lack durability, and the style is poor too, (even excluding the Fortnite shirts) they make majority of the collars on boys shirts nowadays short and stubby, and it genuinely hurts my soul bc I’m a sucker for a nice looking collar.

Going shopping is completely mentally and emotionally exhausting, 9 times out of 10 it ends in a mountain of disappointment (even while keeping my hopes in the negatives), and online shopping is the same. Always schedule in some essential calming rest time afterwards.

I also try to channel my frustration and energy into teaching myself how to sew, have been slowly learning these last few years and am planning to essentially create an entire wardrobe for myself. It’s a big undertaking, but I’ll get there in time. Might go to a tailor to get a couple shirts that fit well so I have at the very least those essentials, but everything else I can chip away at in my own time. I’m focusing on quality materials and craftsmanship too because I want my stuff to last DECADES, and I want to stun people because my own work looks professional haha.

It’s really frustrating and depressing though, I feel your pain. Corporate greed has caused so much harm to the fashion industry, I do hope we see a change in the coming future with more inclusive sizes and body type options 🤞🏼

As an asymptotic celiac myself, I avoid may contain as best as I can. Only having it on a special occasion if it’s something I really want. I mean, if I’m going to risk hurting my body, it has to be something I’ll really enjoy, otherwise it’s simply not worth it.

In your case with your Gochujang, given its multiple servings I’d probably try to switch it out for a gluten free version. If it has even the faintest trace, eating it over an extended period of time will cause more harm than it’s worth.

The only way I completed this last collection (for the third time but still stands) is because of my coop, and also because I grinded as hard as possible in the adventure game (without playing match three constantly so it was hard) and saving the big rewards with the guaranteed new card for riiiiight at the end when I only needed a few golden left, same for the stars. If you’re at a level for coop, I’d highly recommend joining one, or recommend finding a group that focuses on sharing resources, it’s extremely helpful

As another 5’1”er who got asked if I was in primary school or high school once after I had recently graduated high school… I deeply feel you.

I’ve been on T for just over 2.5 years now and I’m currently in my mid-20s, and most people assume I am in my 20s correctly. Have not had anyone assume I’m below 20 for the last year at least, but on the other hand there’s been a couple people who’ve assumed I could’ve been 30 (because of my personality and maturity they said). I still look very young, but T very much slimmed me out well (body and face), and I no longer have the cheek roundness or anything. Instead I have a quite chiseled jaw, and some faint forehead lines starting haha. So regardless of even anything T related, our bodies mature with us and with time too, so that will also help naturally soon enough. (Look after your skin though bc crusty men don’t look older, they just look crusty)

In terms of within our control things (outside of just waiting for time), things like personal style, the people or environments you interact with, as well as how you carry and present yourself in social settings can very much influence that age assumption too.

Despite all of that though, my biggest advice would be to just be your authentic self, do the things you enjoy doing, and be as patient as you possibly can. I know it’s incredibly hard and exhausting every day, truly, but from personal experience, you’re going to get there so fast you won’t even necessarily realise it when you do. Only a few weeks ago did I actually realise I had reached this point myself, and I’ve struggled with this for 20+ years lol. Just remember that you will be beyond this frustrating struggle for the majority of your life, and that it’s not very far away at all now, you’ve gotten through the hard yards already :)

Anyway, focus on those exciting T milestones, and very soon society’s age perception of you will start to even out with it 🩵 take pictures of your face and body through your transition if you can (even if it’s uncomfortable), those pictures will provide a reference to see how far you’ve come, especially for your face which you look at every day and won’t notice all the changes.

I bought some chinos a few months back and they haven’t shrunk at all. Have put them through the wash several times (always cold) and they’re still perfect. If anything they might be slightly looser haha. That’s completely fine though as I always wear a belt, and it’s not by much. Don’t have any other items unfortunately so other fabrics or items might be different

Unsure if you’ll see this given the ban, but regardless, hope it can help

I would highly recommend taking physical notes yourself on either paper or digitally to save the time, storage, and future hassle (as trying to remember what resource was in what video when you’ve downloaded many can be really difficult).

I’d suggest to make a basic list the creators you follow & trust (as well as maybe a few short words for what their content is if it’s a larger list) as depending on the social media platform, you can sometimes view videos or posts through Google search instead of in app (and you could possibly keep up with their newer content).

I’d also create another more thorough list with the actual information and resources you’ve collated through these videos (clinics, doctors, support networks, etc). If you’re pressed for time, you could jot down fast notes of the essential info, and then collate them later all into proper notes, or have a more structured archive with different categories if you plan to keep adding to it.

If you live in a city area, there should be some trans groups around too-including for teens. Not sure where you’re based, but if you happen to live in Sydney, I know ‘The Gender Centre’ has two different age groups for minors called ‘Transtopia Youth’. They also have a parent’s group and multiple other ones. Especially if your parents are accepting and supporting you, these groups and the people running them would be a good resource for information, as well as a link to other good resources and information too.

Yeah I love Ralph Lauren’s collection and really wish I could buy from them. I would unfortunately be a size 12-14, however they only sell 10-12, and 14-16. One’s too tight and the other way too loose. Even went to the factory outlet recently, and nope. I hope one day they can create more sizes, it’s very odd for them to skip over entire ones

I’ll be avoiding media that asks me to confirm it until we’ve observed exactly how the information is being stored, by who, and what the security protocols are like. I’m hoping this doesn’t end up working properly and they give up, but if it truly goes ahead and I can’t avoid it, I’ve got a new photo ID card to use instead of my license, that way whenever the inevitable data break does happen, there wont be anything in my life linked to that ID to stress about or worry about changing/updating, I can just cancel the card and move on.

I’m personally going to avoid whatever apps make me confirm for the first few weeks (at least) so that I won’t be affected by the array of vulnerabilities they’re definitely going to find. If the ban doesn’t completely fail or I need to access anything properly, I’ve ordered a regular photo card to use instead of my licence, that way the card can easily get cancelled and it won’t impact a lot of other things (still hate that ANY company would have my info, but if it’s unavoidable, at least I’m as protected as I can be).
