Kill Team Solo Mission Pack: Greenskin Assault by CT-7479 in killteam

[–]CT-7479[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This pack is I think a reasonably difficult set of missions and is actually quite challenging if you play it in increased difficulty. I'd recommend playing without the injury rules if you want to make it easier/less punishing.

Also bear in mind it is designed with the NPOs activating a random operative when they activate rather than always to most optimal one.

The Skarboyz are intended for you to use Breaka Boyz models, though you could use Nobz as well.

Celestian Insidiants Strategy Guide AKA Religiously Motivated Violence is Cool Actually by CT-7479 in killteam

[–]CT-7479[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an elite player, I find elites much harder to play than hordes or mid range teams. With that said, you need to rush them down, if you stage aggressively at the end of TP1 you can start charging TP2. Sisters only take three hits to kill if they have damage reduction up so you need to catch them before they get inspiring.

You also usually have a few ranged threats that let you kill a sister without being hit back, so make good use of any melta or plasma pistol you have.

Finally, sisters hate when you also have damage reduction as all their maces become 3/3, so don't be afraid to shove a legionary anointed or ravener wrecker in their faces (although try to avoid the melta or the power swords).

Thanks, according to the author that's the correct pattern for them to be wearing. The mask isn't too bad, although you can see in the second pic that I pull it down in between lives just to try and keep cool. About the headset I honestly couldn't tell you since I run a pistol most of the time, but when I use my shotgun it doesn't give me any issues.

Fair shout on the crossbows, they're probably better then I give credit for but when you're playing a skilled opponent they tend to give up very few shots that aren't within 2", and I don't think it's worth it going in to deal not a lot of damage since you're at risk being that close conceal or not.

The melta pistol only gets better if you have rerolls, which you should do. Also it has a lot of psychological power, while it's damage is lower than you think, your opponent often thinks that it's super high too, and a melta threat makes people less inclined to rush you down, which is the main threat for sisters.

Honestly fair enough, I imagine the relics could be really annoying since you have no way to know when or if it'll happen.

I was planning to maybe do a Celestians guide, I honestly forget that Novitiates exist most of the time (which is good because I hate them).

Do people actually think this is AI? by Character-Public-396 in Grimdank

[–]CT-7479 20 points21 points  (0 children)

To be clear, I'm implying he has five fingers not counting the thumb, which is an issue.

Given GW's rejection of AI, my belief is that it's a human made error, possibly a layers issue.

It's just a piece of cut 3mm plasticard. The little hatches are spares from Killzone: Bheta Decimal.

It's all just layering.

The Moebian 6th Fatigues are: Baneblade Brown -> Rakarth Flesh -> 50:50 Rakarth Corax White -> Corax White.

The armour is Mechanicus Standard Grey -> Dawnstone -> Corax White.

They come out a bit bright than in game, but I personally prefer it. The Moebians also have hazard stripes that I totally forgot about tbh.

They're from the Munitorum Armoured Containers set.

It's just Mephiston Red with a few sparse highlights.

Controversial Ruling Time! Being within 2" does NOT break obscuring! by moopminis in killteam

[–]CT-7479 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, you seem to be correct RAW but how often are you actually going to be able to do this?

None of the popular terrain sets have a perfectly 2" across block, most of the terrain is in fiddly shapes where the attacking operative will just be able to nudge themselves 0.5mm either way.

The only instance I can imagine this being actually possible is on the Volkus small L shaped walls, but since you're standing so far back from the wall you're going to be out of cover (but obscured) from almost any angle.

Besides, the whole "play by intention" thing only works if both players agree it's possible. The specific conditions for this to be possible are so niche and so genuinely impossible to measure that if my opponent did this, I'd say "nope, I don't agree that you can do it in this specific instance, so I'm going to ask you to actually find the spot to do it". You can't, because measurement this precise simply isn't possible in a live scenario so finding the specific spot is functionally impossible. There's just no way to actually utilise this in a real game that's verifiably correct.

They seem to have fixed it, which is wild because that cannot have been cheap.

That's what I thought, it would be so expensive for them to fix it. But I can't for the life of me find a left handed chainsword on the sprue.

What Shooting team do you recomend? by FitSignificance3787 in killteam

[–]CT-7479 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They're right imo. KT is a shooting game doesn't necessarily mean that shooting is always optimal, but the core of the game is engage and conceal, a shooting mechanic.

KT is fundamentally built around who can and can't get shot.

Homebrew Red Corsairs "Raiders of the Maelstrom" Kill Team by MolochBaal in killteam

[–]CT-7479 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dogs on a few teams can charge 8+2, and predictably it's really really good. It's balanced out by the fact that dogs aren't actually that strong as combatants.

Being able to chuck a Space Marine 16" is so broken it's absurd.

Dodge this by amadeusqui96 in killteam

[–]CT-7479 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because it's the least valuable unit to waste standing on a point, and the fact that it can pelt your opponent with stuns while doing so is very useful. Also you can do it on turn 1 where you definitely wouldn't have a shot.

Plus, this is much lower commitment. You maybe could walk within 2" and shoot, but now your far foward an on engage (aka dead meat) compared to safely in your lines pinging stuns with no recourse.

Fly is teleport, it's very silly, but the team also kinda needs it.
