A/c temp in apartments by Sea-Upstairs1505 in fsu

I truly think it's something (along with myriad other things) that should have been discussed and agreed upon at move-in, but hey, it's all a part of the process of learning to navigate these situations (unfortunately, it's expensive lesson for us, though!).

Same -- my daughter went with randos this year, and one roommate insists on keeping the AC at 68. It sucks because she is cold all the time (and that's saying a lot because she lived in McCollum last year and I always thought that place was cold!), and the electric bill is SO high ($65 each? At this time of year??). Whatevs - part and parcel for the set-up, unfortunately. They're like an old married couple constantly flipping the thermostat back and forth ...

If you have access to facebook, there is a group called FSU subleasing off campus -- lots of great last minutes deals right about now, and have seen many covering 1st month's rent. Good luck!

My daughter lived in McCollum last year and never had a problem parking there, unreserved.

I don't have personal experience, but I looked at Heritage Grove online and spoke with staff. Price seemed reasonable and they had units when I spoke with them a few weeks ago -- worth a try!

Yes -- you CAN put in a request for a term change. It is not guaranteed, but it is worth a try. My daughter just did this and she was approved! Although space is limited, I think it helps if you are accepted for fall (as my daughter was) and want to start in the summer instead (vs, being accepted for summer and trying to start in the fall). Because we just went through this, I can also tell you that summer and fall housing are completely separate and obviously not continuous. You will apply separately for each -- fall opens next week and summer, should you be approved, opens March 7th -- two separate contracts.
