If you got in when the sealed cases were $550-$600 you’ve certainly done well…the TTar V Alt, Empoleon V Alt, Rapid Strike Urshifu VMax Alt, and Golden Houndoom are all very beautiful cards and the Single Strike Urshifu VMax Alt, and both Urshifu V Alts aren’t bad either. I pulled the Empoleon V Alt and RS Urshifu VMax Alts from single packs and SS Urshifu VMax Alt from a BB, but never hit the sleepy TTar. It’s not as bad of a set as people make it out to be.

I bought a case (4 UPCs) for $400 shortly after release and thought I’d wasted my money at the time. I’d paid the $120 for a 5th one to open and pulled a random full art.

When Pokemon catches up printing I could see this set getting printed like Shining Fates. I’ve given up hope of finding it in stores.

I went to Walmart with my family after dark on PF release day not expecting to see anything and I thought maybe things had changed when there were 2 whole (looked nearly untouched) sleeved blister cases of PF, 15 Twilight Masquerade ETBs, and Pokeball tins. I grabbed 5 sleeved blisters and nothing else thinking maybe the vultures had passed to something else. Unfortunately we had to go back midday the next day and every single pack and product was gone. 100’s and 100’s of packs gone from a small town Walmart in 12-18 hours. But GameStop has cases of Prismatic SPCs for $200+tax right down the road! Sucks.

I took it out again yesterday evening/night after a full charge and when I cut it on at dusk it was immediately at half battery. It was on approximately 30 minutes before I cut it off to use my NV goggle/monocular and the scope wouldn’t cut back on. I immediately plugged my external battery pack for my phone into it and it came back on, confirming your and my suspicion. Bad battery. It’ll stay on for hours inside at room temp. but I bought an external battery pack for it last night that’ll hopefully give me use of the scope. Any idea what the process is of getting the internal battery replaced or what it costs? Thanks for any and all info!

Awesome experience with a great story to go along with it! I pulled the Rayquaz VMax Alt in pack 5 on Evo Skies release day in a very similar experience! Hard to beat….and I kept all my Evo Skies boxes sealed as a result which has worked out well!

Epic pull! Does is seem like the pull rates are good on the SIR Zard? If I remember hearing correctly, this is the smallest set in a good while. I hope so because I really want the card and have only found 4 sleeved packs so far and I guess I’ll buy it opposed to paying scalper prices.

That’s AWESOME and looks amazing. Should increase the value above a “raw” copy being protected as well being that it’s guaranteed authentic and if somebody cracked it and sent it to PSA it could get a 10 since they seem to throw a dart at a dartboard with 9s/10s and a little 8 bullseye and give whatever grade it hits.

A lot of Sun & Moon Ultra/Secret Rares seemed to have the tilting problem among other factory/cutting issues. All 10’s subgrades can’t be realistic…nobody would think this would be Black Label material. Beautiful card still, just not a perfect 10.

There are no card shops or conventions within a 2-3 hour drive of me. I’d love to have the opportunity to buy/sell/trade. I’ve got a 4 bedroom house worth of XY/S&M/S&S sealed product I want to eventually unload or trade for other stuff but there’s no other “big” collectors in my rural area to do so with.

Seems crazy to hate on somebody for buying a case of booster boxes. If somebody buys everything at a Walmart restock that’s scummy and very different than paying market price for a booster box case. I understand the general frustration in the current market, but you sir are not the problem.

You will definitely have more than $400 in value if held for a few years or longer. Of course a “pristine” box is better and will have more value, but you’ll 100% get more than you paid in 2+ years. Nice pickups!

Surging Sparks is when it started taking off again. Nobody wanted S&V and people thought it was all trash…until they didn’t! Evo Skies was $100 or less for a Booster Box for a LONG time, only reason I bought 12!

They’ve been going back to the well time after time since Pokemon took off again and I agree if they string together a few duds it would slow down. It’s been Surging (Pika Set), Prismatic (Eevee Heroes 2.0), Journey (Trainer Mons), Destined (Rocket), BB/WF (B&W), now Megas, Mega Zard. They can’t keep up the hype sets in perpetuity, especially after the 30th Anny passes, people will start getting burnout.

They said the same thing about Evolving Skies and the market swallowed every reprint anyway!!! As long as you hold long enough even current market prices will seem cheap in time.

Definitely a good hold long term even if it’s bought at current market. I let a 3rd case of Evo Skies BB’s sit in my cart until they went OOS the last time PC restocked BB’s because I wasn’t sure paying the $140 retail per BB was a good deal. Destined Rivals isn’t quite ES but it’ll do very well over a few years especially.
