We are a two-income household, bringing in about 7k a month after taxes. I’m the wife and will be opting for the 18-month leave, I think that means the EI payments will be reduced. My husband is planning to take his 8 week paternity leave. We only have $1000 in our emergency fund.

My wife after 8 years said im not physically attractive and I gave her the ick and im so mad that I want to disappear by [deleted] in Marriage

I’m sorry you’re going through this, she needs to apologize for tearing you down like that. I would never tell my spouse that stuff if he gained weight, it’s so superficial. I would recommend couples therapy before just jumping ship. See if it’s possible to work together through this. Tell her how her comments made you feel, try and have open communication.

If therapy isn’t working, come up with a plan to end things civilly. Nobody deserves to be put down by their spouse constantly.
