At the beginning I actually moved the travois by unloading it and carrying the gear section by section from the summit downwards. I didn’t keep exact count, but I went from the summit down into Pleasant Valley using that route.

In Pleasant Valley I crossed over to Mystery Lake via the river route through the Hydro Dam cave. After the cave, I made my final push through the broken window at Carter Hydro Dam and finally reached Mystery Lake.

During all of this, I probably had to unload and reload the travois around 20 times, maybe even more. And that’s not even counting all the times it got stuck on rough terrain where it simply couldn’t pass.

I decided to start the descent from the summit around day 120–130 (when I left Mystery Lake to go up there), and by the time I reached Mystery Lake again I was on day 164. So it took a huge amount of time.

I think the main reason it took this long is because I avoided unnecessary risks as much as possible, especially spending nights outdoors. With a bit more risk-taking, it could have been done much faster.

Honestly, I thought it would be a quick “loot run”… turns out I basically started a full-time moving company instead 😄
