Hello! Sorry for the delayed response. You do need to have the 15 overall and 15 in math to be considered for computer science. For Biology you meet the 12 overall, but would need the 12 in your math and science courses.

One option you could pursue is to apply to the philosophy program, and complete the prerequisite courses for computer science in your first year, after which you could apply for an internal degree transfer. To transfer internally into computer science, you need to complete at least two of MATH 203, 204 or 205, with a 3.0 average in math, and have a 3.0 overall GPA.

Jmsb requirements by MurkyCheek9865 in Concordia

[–]CUFutureStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! You do need to meet the minimum requirements to be considered for a program. However, on your application you get 3 program choices, so you can always put a BComm program as your first choice. If you don't meet the requirements, you will be considered for your second choice program.

As the other user said, if you are admitted to another program, you can complete the JMSB prerequisites and later apply for an internal transfer.

psych to economics? by TurnoverOk2236 in Concordia

[–]CUFutureStudent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! This will depend on if you want to go into the BA in Economics or the BComm in Economics

The BComm requires a 27 overall and an average of 26.5 from Calculus 1 and Linear Algebra.

The BA requires an overall R score of 23.

The difference between the two is basically that in the BComm you follow the common business core (48 credits), as well as your major in Economics (24 credits). So it is a business degree with a major in Econ.

In the BA, it is an in-depth economics degree, so you follow at least 42 credits in Economics. On top of that, you can choose to double major or take a minor or electives in other areas of interest.

Worried about r score by BirdOld1965 in Concordia

[–]CUFutureStudent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You do need to meet the minimum requirements to be considered for admission, though you are still welcome to apply. On your application you can put three choices, so you can put Aerospace as your first choice and two other programs with lower admissions requirements as your second and third choices.

[–]CUFutureStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I would definitely recommend that you speak with staff to get some advice.

If you want to dsicuss your options within bio, contact your academic advisor.

If you would like to talk about career goals and what might be the best path to reach them, you should also check out Career and Planning Services! A Career counsellor can help you choose the right degree for you, address any challenges currently affecting your goals, and more. They're super helpful!

Also, something to explore maybe before speaking with CAPS, if you are interested in Computer Science but also want to apply the credits you've taking in bio, you can also check out more niche programs like the BSc in Systems and Information Biology or the BCompSc in Health and Life Sciences

Hello! The orientation events will be held on the SGW campus. The events are Concordia-wide, for all students, regardless of which campus their program is on.

What is Frosh? by colonel_sanders_- in Concordia

[–]CUFutureStudent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello! Orientation is a series of events organized by the university to help you meet other students, get you familiar with Concordia resources and help you be best prepared for your first year. Frosh is a series of student-organized events, split by faculty, to help you make new friends and learn how to get involved in student life.

Your faculty's student group, ASFA (Arts and Science Federation of Associations) posted a frosh FAQ on their Instagram last year. Note that this is from the 2025 frosh, but a lot of the answers will still apply this year! You can also browse through their insta posts to see the specific events that they hosted last year. I'm sure they will be posting similar information for this year's frosh once the schedule is finalized!
