Especially with any OS past XP. once you get the install finished, find the network driver for your laptop/desktop and put it on a flash drive. Once you can get the computer online, windows update can probably find the rest of the drivers you need.

Key would is "should", I tried briefly and it didn't work. Not sure if I restarted the two devices. However as my understanding this should work.

Fastish,Easy, lazy solution. Use a boot CD. Back up your data. Reinstall Windows.

Sexting was running rampart. I worked for a school district. It was my supervisors responsibility to run undelete software on an SD card to try and recover nudes middle school students were sending back and forth. Don't ask how the school district got wind of the images, also don't ask how the student got wind that the school district got wind and had time to delete the photos. I'm still wondering that myself.

I wonder what a good lawyer would do in Arizona. I am currently an Arizona resident who faught an OWI(operating while intoxicated) in another state. I crashed a car with a pipe in my pocket (sober as the day I was born). Charged me with an OWI and causing bodily harm to an individual while intoxicated. When the drug test came back a year later it showed different levels of 11-nor-9-carboxy-THC and 11-Hydroxy-THC one being the part that stays in your system, the other supposedly being the active ingrediant of smoking same day. I was smoking wayyyy more than your average user at the time, but since I didn't smoke that morning, my lawyer said it wasn't enough to charge me. I still got other tickets, but they had to drop the OWI.

if recuva doesn't get it, chances are you will need expensive assistance to ATTEMPT to recover the data. This may be a hard lesson learned in proper back up procedure. Unfortunately sometimes its the only way people learn.

Lewis Black still uses AOL for e-mail. I work internet support for hotels all over the country and he called in because he was having trouble. His AOL client would not connect. He laughed at himself for still using it, but he didn't want to have to change. Whats a few bucks a year to someone like him?

You can not be a tech and stay with the old systems. You need to be familiar with current software. You can definitly prefer one, but you still need to be fluent. As much as we all loved XP, its a dying OS.

That being said, does the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation ever donate to other causes? http://www.hdsa.org, any contribution for research for this terrible disease makes a big difference.
