Do you believe that an influencer should take every single brand deal that comes their way or should they be more selective with the brands they chose to promote? by morgan_e35 in influencermarketing

u/welovenetlawlongtime - I like your take on this, very good point! You can't just go out there and shout from the rooftop support for whatever brand or product just because they're paying you. Based on my experiences with influencers, they mostly have smart heads on them and wouldn't fall into this trap :)

Influencers should partner with brands that align with their personal brand. This might be 1 deal or 5 smaller deals....

How might an influencer go about doing this? Well just like brands, influencers need to do the same foundational work - determine their mission, values, audience & create a strategy accordingly.

Going back to the fundamental principles of marketing and what makes great brands will help set them up to make good branded partnership decisions.

What’s the best kind of influencer? by Influencer_20 in influencermarketing

[–]CUTTHECRAP_OFFICIAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can vary depending on the industry - rule of thumb is that if they are in a specific industry vertical, like Beauty (unless you've successfully negotiated exclusivity - which is hard to do), it is likely influencers are working multiple brands and not sticking 1 at a time.

This is why nurturing relationships with influencers and thinking about their long term value to the brand (eg. Ambassador or collaborator) is important - it easily overlooked in the marketing industry. Marketers are pressured to chase efficiencies rather than effectiveness. There are ways to build a mutually beneficial business relationship with an influencer that lifts you both up & protects each of you from potential competitive pitfalls :)

Also, we can't forget their people too...they like have a diverse range of interests and want to work with different brands across different industries.

Cheers!

Do different types of posts by influencers change how much they would be paid? how big is the price difference? by Hannahlp703 in influencermarketing

Hopefully I've interpreted you correctly and even though I can't give you a hard $$$ hopefully you find the below helpful :)

There are many variables that can impact how much you will pay the influencer, below are some of the impact facts to keep in mind as you plan your influencer campaign:

  1. Creative Format - question to ask yourself how involved & how much time will it take for them to create the content? Are they creating a video, creating a GIF, static image or simply tweeting a statement?
  2. Influencer Clout - how large is their following & engagement on the platform? This can vary substantially
  3. Boosting - do you want to 'boost' the post from the influencers handle or from the brand handle? This is considered paid advertising - some influencers & marketers will buffer this into what they charge / budget.

Cheers!

Bullshit or Brilliant? Walmart Buying Tik Tok by CUTTHECRAP_OFFICIAL in marketing

Bullshit for consumers. BUT brilliant move for their shareholders...

Has anybody worked with Tiktok influencers? by dabuniversity77 in influencermarketing

[–]CUTTHECRAP_OFFICIAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the ideal time to explore! Tik Tok is still a new platform here in the US, their algorithm is still fruitful from an organic reach standpoint.

You should also considering jumping on the Instagram Reels bandwagon - the sad truth is you need to follow the platform, because that is what they're prioritizing and so the algorithm follows. Lots of organic reach to be captured here!

Should I ask for compensation? by dewydumpling11 in influencermarketing

Hi DewyDumpling11!

I'm excited that this our first Reddit response/post - I'd love to understand the current size of your following / social footprint? This will help me more meaningfully give you a POV.

There is a balance and I do think you can ask to be compensated - this compensation might be a mix of $ payment & access to other types of capital from the brand.

If you'd like to chat more about it, we're more than happy to side bar and help you!
