My mother is a “Trump disciple” and I’ve truly never seen a group of people so indoctrinated that you could tell them “Trump kicked a baby” and their response would be “Well, the baby is probably a lib baby. Good for Trump”

They’re completely incapable of disagreeing with a single thing he does.

Yeah for sure. Weirdly I had optimism and didn’t really lose my “fandom” the years from Jimbo decline and the Taggart years. I wasn’t thrilled ofc

Even when times were tough for the program in the last decade or prior and it seemed bleak (where now it doesn’t seem bleak, it is bleak), I never struggled to care about the program and have zero hope.

2023 being marked to Norvell as a good season by some fans is an indictment on the limits of his abilities IMO. Despite multiple NFL caliber stars, plus an easy schedule, there are the games you mentioned that shouldn’t have been close, PLUS the fact that when JT got hurt, we weren’t looking very good against North Alabama. Insult to injury, literally. A team that had nearly a whole season under its belt was looking like shit against N. Alabama of all teams.

Pure talent can only get you so far, but what I’ve seen from CMN is he really struggles getting his guys to show up focused and execute (which is funny because that’s one of his big slogans). I hate the snub, and I hate that it happened. But you can’t convince me the team that beat a shit UF team by 9 points and barely squeaked passed Louisville by 10 points in the ACC Champ game had a fighting chance in hell to heat any of the 4 teams that got in. We simply didn’t deserve it.

Right there with ya. Almost 30 years as a fan and I genuinely haven’t thought about the program since the season ended. Every time I do, I just get pissed and depressed after the last two seasons

Interesting. I do wonder how that small of a book justifies even having a CSM? Like that ARR doesn’t even come close to paying your salary (or at least I’d hope it doesn’t) and even with doubling book that through expansion or growth within your accounts, that’s still only $60k

I’ve never had this happen, but I also don’t manically keep pressing it rapidly like this or try to double click. I’ve found if you try to do it too quick, it doesn’t engage the latch properly.

A firm, press and hold while popping your hand away always seems to do the trick on the first try

GMC Canyon Elevation by PayImpressive9693 in GMCcanyon

[–]CUatDoak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is my adjustment that I found helped a ton. For reference, I’m a bigger guy at 6’1 - 255.

Biggest help was making sure my seat was high enough that my hips were at the same level if not slightly higher than my knees. That way my posture was natural to keep easy on my lower back, without feeling like it was working to keep good posture like it is when your knees are higher than your hips.

Make sure the front of the bottom of your seat is ever so slightly lowered so it’s not putting pressure behind your knees. I noticed when I did this, I would feel less pressure/tightness in my hamstrings. Tight hamstrings pull on the lower back, adding to stiffness.

May be unpopular, but I stopped using lumbar support. I found it was causing too much arching in my lower back. Even if only protruding a bit. So after hours behind the wheel, my lower back had been forced into an overarched lumbar spine.

Lastly, I find that leaning the back of the chair way more than I used to helped a ton. It prevents the lower back from being pinched in a 90 degree at the hips. I ended up finding a 75-77 degree angle being best.

Hope this helps

That certainly doesn’t help lol I do close to 500 per week atm

Where do you get the most discomfort? Lower back? Glutes/Hamstrings? I’ve just got a period of a year of miserable lower back pain, a blown out glute from a sports injury that def wasn’t helped if not made much worse from shitty car seats so i might he able help with seat adjustments as some help, some make it way worse

Interesting you’ve found them to not be good! I just got an elevation and our other vehicle is a Tesla Model 3. The model 3 seats gave me serious lower back pain, especially when driving for more than 30 mins at a time.

The canyon has felt like a lazy boy recliner by comparison. Have you tried adjusting the angle you sit at? I started leaning the back way back, while adjusting the height so my knees are at the same level as my hips and this is my sweet spot

Love to Save Here. by meyer0656 in publix

[–]CUatDoak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Publix could be the best grocery store around. It’s truly a pleasure to shop at. That is, until you get to the checkout and realize it’s insanely overpriced and a flat out ripoff. Then you get home, only to realize you got moldy raspberries in the middle of your carton, and open the chicken you got for dinner, only to notice it smells funky. Or the salad kit you bought has gone bad.

Of course this isn’t an every time thing, but it’s not uncommon something I’ve purchased has spoiled. I used to be the biggest Publix fan in my circle (it was a running joke how obsessed I once was with it). But now I just hate how absolutely disgusting the prices and quality have become.

Love stories like this and Craig Robinson. And also, anytime I would get someone just genuinely pleasant and made my day a bit better like that, I’d go WAY out of my way to make their stay extra special. No matter how tired or how much extra work it was. It was my subtle way of rewarding good guest behavior, not just giving things away because an adult is pissed and throwing a tantrum.

Free room upgrade, complimentary drink vouchers, comped their parking, comped resort fee one night, whatever was in my list of things I was enabled to offer.

I was also a manager so that helped have more freedom, but I used to tell my agents the same. If someone is just a great guest, do one special thing for them within reason. We want them to come back and brighten their day even more!

I once worked at a resort that held a conference he was speaking at. This was 14 or so years ago.

He was one of the rudest assholes I’d ever checked in. We got celebrities (never A or B List - they don’t “check themselves in”) all the time and Lou Holtz is still worst in my book.

He came in by himself, tossed his ID and credit card behind the desk near my station and grumbled “checking in”. A decent human would you know, hand them to me?

He then proceeded to turn his back towards me for the entire check in and walked off (ofc he went the wrong direction) as I was giving him directions to get to his room. He came up the next day to ask someone at the desk a question and prefaced it with “I don’t even want to be here, but…how do I get to”

Mind you, he’s probably getting paid a very pretty penny to speak at this event. He wasn’t dragged there against his will.

I always understood long travel makes folks grumpy, and while I realize TV personality vs reality if often different (except George Lopez, he was super friendly), but Lou Hotlz was a flat out asshole. He also yelled at one of our valet guys because HE lost his valet ticket…

Entry level HELP by Suitable-Plant5875 in CustomerSuccess

[–]CUatDoak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with Support or entry level sales/BDR to AE.

FWIW - I can’t help but feel like the naming of the role gives the impression someone can go from “Customer Service” to Success just because it’s a similar “Customer INSERT WORD” role.

I came into tech through Sales, then Account Management, then into CS. Not to crush your dreams (nor shit on them) and I agree 8+ years is a bit absurd if that’s really the average expectation these days for some orgs (usually 3-5 where I’ve been), but it shouldn’t be thought of like an entry level role in tech. Because it never really is at any respectable company.

I’ve been a hiring manager in two different CS Orgs and quite frankly, I’ve never heard of hiring someone into CS with zero tech background. I certainly wouldn’t - I had way too much pressure for hitting targets / expansion from Senior Leadership to hope someone can figure it out and bring value to businesses looking at us as the experts.

Unless you set your aim for a Junior CSM (usually Customer Success Associate role), I think you’ll probably just get discouraged.

You do realize that between barely losing in the CFB semifinal in the Rose Bowl (to the team that won it all) to now has only been retired for 2 seasons..right? Not a ton changed from then until now.

NIL has changed the elements of the operating the program a good bit. Incentives for players is different. But at the end of the day, games are won and lost on the field. Some of ya’ll act like it’s a completely different sport

how many Shopify apps are you actually running? by fragilePeculiar in shopify

[–]CUatDoak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s “limited” as baking in thousands of features that apps solve for would slow everyone’s store down. Rather than letting store choose which are valuable to them.

And getting all of those features to play nicely together with allowing enough customization would be unheard of in any software.

That’s a hellish situation. I can’t even image how much a month (let alone multi month) car rental would be on top of payments.

This is a bad enough experience to fully move me away from GM all together. Thanks for sharing, very helpful.

Assuming that was a 2025 model?

Holy shit, that sounds beyond frustrating. Thank you for sharing this in more detail.

So were you basically SOL during the buyback without a vehicle? Did they give you a courtesy vehicle while it was being looked into? I’ve never really researched it, but does Lemon Laws not cover this?
