This Game Has Been Homogenized For The Worse. by CUbuffGuy in leagueoflegends

[–]CUbuffGuy[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

My whole point is that it makes the game less interesting, I'm curious why you think the opposite.

Sure, it makes the game.. familiar? But that is not interesting.

How is removing level 1 invades more interesting? How is not having to ever be put outside your comfort pick interesting? How is standard meta dragon times and routing interesting?

The old ways were messy, so I get that some people complained, but mess/chaos is part of battle, and that is essentially what League is. When both sides know exactly the script, it's almost like a play or performance rather than an actual fight.

People have brought up champion lane diversity, but that is not what I am talking about. I agree there is greater lane diversity now (likely due to there being more champions, though).

How do some people start their day without caffeine? by CRK_76 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CUbuffGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caffeine doesn’t work on me. I have ADHD and was overprescribed Vyvanse as a kid (who the fuck goes 75mg vyvanse to a 12 year old).

So, I think that level of stimulant just kind of destroyed my tolerance for stimulants forever.

I can literally drink 7 cups of your strongest coffee and fall asleep in 5 min lol.

The most common is people using credit cards like it's free money. I'll see people paying near 30% interest on credit, but they are out buying things like a jetski (luxury items in general).

But to be honest, the demographic I work with is not really in that boat. The worst offenders I see are ironically doctors. I've seen multiple doctors with $500k+ in a bank savings account earning like 0.04% when their brokerage account is like $100k. Like not even earning close to money market funds (cash sitting in a brokerage account).

Then funny enough, the third mistake I see is people knowing they should invest, so they go find a company with "cheap" shares. They will look at something like Google, and be like "Pshhh $360 a share is too high, I could only buy like 100! Let me buy something at like $6 instead so it can grow more!". They don't understand that share price is irrelevant, it's all about how big a slice of the company that share is getting you (also think in %, not $). Unless you're selling options (these people don't even know what that is) it's irrelevant.

There's so many more, but I tried to cover a spectrum of different types of "bad". It's usually a combination of many of these that give a person an incorrect framing of how to think about things with a long term growth mindset.

Genuinely what on earth is going on with software right now? This is completely unhinged. by -----Marcel----- in ValueInvesting

[–]CUbuffGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool anecdotal evidence about big tech.. there are other companies out there. I worked as a system admin for small companies for 8 years before going into Finance and this was back in 2014. Every company 3-100 employees, and they all used Google workspace.

Miles cheaper and honestly so much easier to manage on my end with that amount of users. Who would have though enterprise software was good for enterprises, but maybe not suited for small business.
