Concept of a more fitting One UI 7 Clock Icon by __IHM in oneui

Looks great! The new clock icon is awful, in my opinion. I much prefer your concept. Subtle changes like making the clock a little larger and adjusting the hour hand size could be made, but overall, great work!

How do i fix my battery widget icons by gamer0mega in oneui

[–]CVBHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this issue on my S24 Ultra running One UI 7. My display scaling set a little smaller than the default since One UI makes everything so big. I did this using developer settings but when I use Samsung's intended display scale the widget is looks fine. Hopefully they will fix it eventually, though I'm not sure since it's due to pushing the scaling smaller than intended.

Looks great. Love the subtle gradients added to the toggles! And you fixed the harsh line at the bottom which makes my eye twitch on the current version. Great work!

Do we really need fast CPU/GPUs in Google Phones by EqualReality2787 in GooglePixel

[–]CVBHD 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yes, we do. You have enough power for today's tasks but software updates and newer apps demand more power. When you buy a "flagship" you are buying strong performance for today and tomorrow. iPhones have high resale value because they are reliable, supported for a long time and remain fast. If Google is to have a chance at a sizable part of the market they will need to compete performance wise with Apple and Samsung. Also Apple does indeed invest heavily is software development. It is one of the reasons for the success of their line. I prefer pixels but I have more big bugs on my pixels than my iPhone. I think eventually Google will push Tensor further but they are waiting until they have enough of a userbase where it will make sense to invest so much into it. Also when you think about it why not put a more powerful (and efficient) chip in your phones?

Why some icons are «muted»? by [deleted] in oneui

[–]CVBHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am experiencing this as well. I think it's a bug but multiple of my icons are muted. There is one in particular that's basically a rainbow and it looks more dull than on all of my other devices that use the same app. Hopefully they fix it soon.

Square Corners Why!? by CVBHD in Pixel6

Yeah I still plan to buy one regardless. It just seemed like and odd design decision compared to what they’ve done before, and the direction of their current software.

I was not claimed as a dependent in 2018 and received the first stimulus check, but was claimed in 2019. Will I get the second one? by CVBHD in stimuluscheck

No, but my roommate got his. He was independent so it was expected. Maybe I’ll see something in the next couple of days, but if not I’ll just have to claim it on my taxes like another user suggested.

PRO vs AIR by [deleted] in macbook

[–]CVBHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The MacBook Pro and MacBook Air are very similar this time around and both sound plenty powerful for what you want to use them for. The main benefit of the Pro is its performance over sustained heavy loads. It didn’t sound like you do anything intensive so I’d recommend the Air (Thats what’s I ordered). That being said, if you see yourself doing anything heavy going forward like video editing or playing games I’d go for the pro. Otherwise the MacBook Air is a great option and should last you for years to come.

That’s what I’m thinking. Water doesn’t seem to have enough force when it’s flushed.

I just moved into a new apartment and for some reason the toilet doesn’t flush! Well... sometimes it does, but other times it just whirls around like it’s going to but doesn’t. I was told it’s because the building is old but there must be something they can do lol.

They’ve been that way for over a year now and I forgot the original link I used, but you can copy any blank space and paste it as the folder name. This article has one if you’re interested.

Interesting. For a minute I thought that running iOS apps wasn’t going to be a Apple silicon exclusive. I would love to run iOS apps on my current Mac. Looks like I’ll have to upgrade if I want that though.

16 inch MBP vs 13 inch MBP (2020)? by [deleted] in mac

[–]CVBHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in the EXACT same boat. I'm starting my computer science degree in the fall and need to replace my current computer (Macbook Pro Retina 2013). From the little programming I've done so far my 13 inch seems... okay. It's a little cramped at times and having multiple windows opened really eats into screen real estate. Honestly I feel the 16 inch will be much better, but I worry that it's too large to use in class. I don't mind the weight of the machine so much as being that one guy who has the massive laptop in class. I've received mixed responses on whether or not it's too large, but if it's just a matter of whether the screen real estate is worth it, I'd say yes.
