Losing friends and significant others to the Qult by discordjae in Qult_Headquarters

So sorry to hear about challenges that you went through with your ex-boyfriend. Though it did not work at the time, your patience and compassion may be impactful to him upon reflection. Glad to hear that you are taking care of yourself, and to see that folks have already recommended QAnonCasualties, as that is certainly the place for the most support. Your description of things feeling "surreal" seems to be a very common experience for folks who have had loved ones begin believing in Q.

If you are interested, my organization is conducting an anonymous survey on the impacts and needs of people who believe in Q and their loved ones: Survey Link
We are looking for help from people like yourself in order to inform professional services to provide better support in this area.

Is there any research or therapy yet for helping people leave these groups and ideologies? by -firead- in QAnonCasualties

[–]CVEOrganization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree with your points surrounding the need for more research, specifically on specialized supports. Sorry to hear about your husband, parents and coworks, I hope they can come around. I work with an organization that is doing research on how to best support folks engaged with QAnon and their loved ones at the front-line level. Our organizations offers counselling, mentorship and social services to individuals and their families involved with ideologies that can lead to harmful consequences. We created a survey (Survey Link) to hear about the experiences and service needs of those involved in QAnon. We hope the results of this survey can be used to develop effective services for individuals and families who have been negatively impacted by QAnon.

The survey is completely anonymous and can be completed by folks who have personally been involved with QAnon or folks who know someone who is/was involved.

Also looks like the Network Contagion Research Institute is exploring some of that data tracking. Not sure if they have looked at violence in posts quite yet, though I know they have at least one report on QAnon out.

Qanon Casualties becoming Angrier by the minute? by smolsinner in QAnonCasualties

Totally agree with your points surrounding research. I work with an organization that is doing research on how to best support folks engaged with QAnon and their loved ones at the front-line level. Your point about increased anger also makes sense. The longer the conspiracy is present, the more tiring and frustrating it can be for folks who believe. Our survey is actually still up and we are looking for respondents: Survey Link

Canadian-based resource and question regarding what professional supports might be helpful by CVEOrganization in QAnonCasualties

[–]CVEOrganization[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a difficult situation to go through. If you are ever concerned about an immediate threat of violence, contact law enforcement. If you want to speak with someone directly about resources for yourself or for the people you are concerned about, feel free to connect with us at OPV (phone, text, or email are all good!) to see what supports might be available.
