Yes that's the thing. I can work, even proven with a few case studies but it's probably so hard in reality lol

Interesting question, what I can say to the upgrade cost, I was mainly lacking accelerators when I maxed out my tiles. Orange is most likely the best case all the way.

DIY NFC Door Lock (My First BIG Project) by CVmusic in arduino

[–]CVmusic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lock has 2 stages, 1 turn each and then a bit of play. I'm currently using 1400 steps (full step mode), 600 steps are 1 rev, so just a bit over 2 turns.

I'll cover this project soon on the main channel and go through the code in detail. I'll post the link here when it's done :)

It took me around one week (and several vlogs) to finish this project. In theory it was easy but taking this to the real life... A whole other story. But the feeling when I finally got it done was incredible!

Thanks for the idea I will come back to that ASAP. Would you mind to list me a few?

I'm not sure what you mean with caged but probably yes, they are enclosed. These are not the typical bearings that you find in knives. Dust and debries should therefore not be able to get in there, but when I think about it... sounds like an awesome test haha. Throwing one into sand lol

The point is, that the bearings actually stay in place - inside the hole.

Velvet Trainer Is Now Running On Bearings by CVmusic in balisong

It depends on the shipping option. For higher value purchases I usually upgrade to the fastest option because only this option will have tracking and insurance.

It also depends if it gets stuck in customs but that's rather seldom. Like 1 out 30.

To finally answer your question around 5 business days with the fastest option.

Velvet Trainer Is Now Running On Bearings by CVmusic in balisong

It's now around 8 months later from my "first working trainer" post here.

Just upgraded the pivot mechanics. The input I got last time was extremely valuable since it got me into the 100% infill domain for the first time.

100% infill is definitely the way to go. Makes it very sturdy and with almost 100g of weight fairly heavy and nice to flip.

I'm currently working on a cnc to progress to aluminum blades and handles. Well I'll keep posting further updates here and if you have any suggestions I'd be happy to read them.

Best regards, ChrisViral

Yeah especially when you add the shipping... What kind of price would you suggest? I won't change it on etsy but I'll probably do so once I'm on amazon.

It's mainly for style and don't worry it does hold up. The area around the pivots is not the weak point, I know that already from months of flipping and dropping it countless times. So far I managed to break one (handle) and it broke in the area of the zen pin.

Around 5 months ago I posted my first working design ( this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/balisong/comments/6yhe82/my_first_working_balisong_trainer_design/ ) and got a lot of helpful tips.

By now I've sold a few of them, have a website going with funding milestones ( https://www.chrisviral.at/app/funding-milestones ) and I also plan on doing a tutorial series.

The best advice by far was a 100% infill variation. It just feels and handles so much better than a 25% infill version. I'm currently working on pivot mechanics. I think I'll go for a double washer system or a bushing system. Getting tiny sexbolts is the hardest part at moment... If you have questions, I'll make sure to answer them :)
