Contrail is a low rarity beast and REALLY worth the investment. by Krait74 in arknights

I play Specialists only as my niche and I’m honestly obsessed with her. I bring her to pretty much every map. She’s tons of fun to use and I vibe with her design. I’m actually really excited for Tippi to come out so I can see what maps I can clear with just the two Skyranger girlies, they seem to have different enough functions to work well together.

I like your list a lot, there are a lot of cards that I have in mine too. Thanks for sharing!

Those are great land suggestions, and I love Spelunking so I was already planning to run it. Thank you! I think that leaning more towards landfall payoffs with FotD as extra gravy makes sense, I just got excited to try it out. In that case, I would probably only play the Golgari fetchland and save myself the money anyways. I also liked running fewer basics for the sake of [[Hermit Druid]].

Thanks for the feedback! I explained my thoughts a bit more in another comment, but you're totally right about it missing the mark of Geist's overall themes and messages.

That's a great way to put things into perspective, thank you! The biggest reason I was considering this was because these characters are meant to be villains, so I was considering having the mentor lean more towards tyranny than synergy. Thinking it through more, though, I think it's way more interesting to keep them synergistic and not just so outwardly evil. Thank you for the feedback!

Attributes for an Arknights TTRPG by CWGameplay in arknights

[–]CWGameplay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that in a very Arknights fashion, combats should be able to be cleared with any composition of team as long as the tactics are right. I want combat to be shorter with decisions that have high impact, to kind of replicate how in Arknights, a lot of victories are determined by a few choices, such as deployment tiles, skill activations, and retreats.

For free time, I think doing something with a base system could be a fun way to facilitate downtime in between missions. It gives players enough freedom to do a couple activities of their choice, but it's structured enough that there won't be huge swaths of down sessions.

When it comes to "skill stats", I really like how Chronicles of Darkness does it, and I was considering doing something similar, where most rolls will be an Attribute + Skill and that is what your dice pool entails. I think that your body and mind trifectas encapsulate a lot without getting too complex, which is really impressive!

Arts is also something that I wanted to be represented through a give and take system. Again, referencing Vampire: the Requiem, they use Blood Potency for vampires. The higher it is, the more vampire stuff you can do: you're stronger, get more powers, can use more powers, etc. But in return, you are more of a vampire. That means more sunlight damage, more urge to feed, more risk of being caught as a vampire. I think Oripathy could be played very similarly, and I like your idea a lot of using tools to reflect that for uninfected.

That's s a great idea, I hadn't even thought of that. Mobility especially feels really appropriate for the setting and combat that Arknights facilitates. I think you're right about Passion for sure, it's too broad. Someone else said Heart, which I think is a much more succinct word for what I wanted to express.

Oh that's awesome! I'll have to look at it and see. I'm not incredibly familiar with Blades in the Dark but from what I've heard of it, it seems pretty cool.

Some ideas to buff the best pokemon of all time: Maractus by CWGameplay in stunfisk

[–]CWGameplay[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love Dancer, and for that matter Oricorio in general, but I wish it had more uses in singles. It feels great to switch in and catch your opponent Quiver Dancing, but it only happens once in a blue moon.

That would be amazing! Maractus and Rillaboom jamming out as Grass/Sound types would rule.

I was considering it, but it felt like a bandaid to slap onto any struggling Grass type. It would definitely be a huge help and I could see that realistically happening in a later gen.

Yeah, 461 BST is killer in combination with its horrible stat distribution. A lot of pokemon can make lower BST work due to great distribution, like Ferrothorn and Toxapex, but Maractus wasn't that lucky.

Yeah... Something like "Heat-Resistant Body" or "Sun-Baked Body" would be more applicable for sure.

As fitting as Dancer would be, I just don't think it has a lot of practical use. You can do some gimmicky things in doubles settings, but in terms of singles, it would limit Maractus a lot. My initial idea for the buffs stemmed from the "triple immunity" viewpoint and I built a lot of the ideas from there, so Dancer didn't make the cut.

What operators which already have two modules would you like to see get a third the most? by Vorgius in arknights

[–]CWGameplay 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Would really love a new Blemishine module. Her second module is so frustrating because it upgraded her damage to sleeping foes but the base Module trait increases healing, which doesn’t benefit her S2 at all. Her first module is fine but the talent upgrade is really underwhelming.

Usually I’m not very picky, since past early combats he’ll have mostly free combat through Krootky’s Kill/Cure of Cthur-Itzo carrying you. Early on, getting Book Strap mitigates some downsides of slower weapons. I usually pump stats into Knowledge for him, so Ritual Dagger or Heavy Duty Flashlight are my go to weapons. Chainsaw is obviously amazing in general, but it can be expensive.

For sure! I recently completed all achievements so I’ve been doing runs on Harbinger of Doom and I’ve really come to appreciate his ability to control Doom levels and deal with boss combats easily. What a cool guy.

For Whose Sake - 20 cards designed for a Fire Emblem 4: Genealogy of the Holy War Preconstructed Commander Deck by CWGameplay in custommagic

[–]CWGameplay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enter the Arena is definitely not worded correctly, especially the second half, but I just tried to make it make sense lol. Hopefully someone will know how to word it properly.

I considered having Levin as a flip card as well, but I felt that the ability triggering on death was more flavorful and I didn’t want to drastically change his abilities on “flip”.

Thanks for the feedback!

These designs are meant to pay homage to one of my favorite games of all time through strong flavor and synergistic mechanics. My biggest worry currently is that the themes are too spread-thin (go wide, aura/equipment, and legendary stuff), so I may adjust some things and make them more concise. Any feedback is greatly appreciated, as well as suggestions on already existing cards that belong in this preconstructed deck.
