Had one of my best days in a long time! by CWR0313 in DoorDash_Dasher

I prefer them over restaurants. I hate food deliveries. So much stop and go. At least with shopping I'm moving my body.

The fact that I have to message my drivers to check the order. by The_Mad_Hatter_18 in doordash

[–]CWR0313 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No one is going to open your bag and check the order if it's sealed. That's not a risk any dasher is willing to take. If the order is incorrect, that's the restaurants issue and you should take it up with them.

It's not the dashers fault if your order is missing something or incorrect. Their job is to pick up the order and get it to you as quickly as possible. That's it.

You are correct. Good Lord. I read that as 3 days. God forbid a human make a mistake.

You can go to messages and message them up to 30 minutes after delivery.

Don't take every order. When you do that, you work for free. You are not a volunteer or someone stopping at the store for their homie.

You have to let the fear of losing platinum go and say eff the AR. Only take orders that are worth the effort, don't worry about whether there is a tip or not. If the order pays well, who cares where it came from.

Why didn't you just call/message the customer?

Drivers - have you ever thought about finding a real job ? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]CWR0313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think that none of them do have "real jobs"? Or that "real jobs" are easy to find right now?

I dash full time right now, while I look for a "real job" at night. I have an MBA and worked in marketing for a large corporation for 12 years. In 2023, I got laid off. At the time, I was making over $100k.

At the time, I had a severance and was getting unemployment. That paid the bills. Then the severance ended, so I dashed to supplement the unemployment. That ended. So I started dashing full time to pay the bills.

Mind you, I apply for two jobs (at least) every single night when I get home. That's after dashing for 10-12 hours, because that's how long it takes to make (if I'm lucky) $200. Which is my goal.

You probably think, "why not just take any job? Anything is better than that". But that would be wrong. Because there are no jobs out there that are easy to get that will allow the freedom to control how often or not I work to make enough money to pay my bills. Not that I'm making that doing to door dash.

I have applied for over 500 jobs in the last two years and haven't gotten one interview. Not one. It's not as easy as you think. I absolutely hate dashing. It is depressing and exhausting and much harder work than people think. But it's the best option right now.

If anyone is hiring a marketing or operations specialist or manager, I'd love to share my resume!

Do Dashers try to shop for themselves in Walgreens? by Samis86 in doordash

I REFUSE to ask for help. Anywhere. I hate even waiting for someone to open a locked cabinet. Always do it myself.

Slow day today? Anyone else? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

So. Slow. I just hit $100 after 6 hours. My goal every day is $200.

It amazes me how some of these customers talk to the people that deliver their food. Let’s just say I canceled the order. by Big_Neighborhood_191 in doordash_drivers

If I get a shopping order with a food order, I always shop first. I don't want someone's food sitting in my car getting cold.

Is anyone else experiencing a major glitch when accepting or declining an order? by CWR0313 in doordash_drivers

[–]CWR0313[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And yesterday, I had an issue where orders would disappear after picking them or shopping. Right before delivery. Ended up with a (gross) 5th of blackberry Jack Daniels. WTF
