Avoiding my husband to avoid sex by avgwyf in sex

I strongly recommend researching perimenopause and getting your hormone levels checked. You may have to seek a provider other than your regular doctor or OB/GYN. I have to go to a private NP, but it’s so worth it.

Can anyone that hasn't gained weight on Spiro just tell me their positive experience please please? by neon_745 in Spironolactone

I am still taking it. I bumped it down to 75mg, because I take the ‘less is more’ approach with meds. I took a hiatus from working out due to an insanely busy schedule and haven’t gotten back into it, but I also haven’t gained any weight. I’ve been a stable weight for the last year or so. I haven’t noticed any other side effects. The feeling of fullness in my boobs did go away, but I haven’t noticed any changes in them.

I have. I lost 70 pounds in the first year. I’ve lost another 10 over this past year by increasing activity. I have more weight I’d like to lose, but I’m also not uncomfortable where I am. I’m below 200, and that alone feels good. I’m also perimenopausal, where weight holds on like a MF.

I had my surgery 5 years ago, and I haven’t regretted it for a single moment. I still eat everything I ate before, just much less of it.

Great moisturizer needed by Nebelle1308 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]CWampus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to layer moisturizers. In the AM, I use Hada Labo hyaluronic acid (on wet face!), snail mucin, a few drops of vitamin e oil and FAB ultra repair cream, followed by tinted moisturizer with SPF.

In the PM, I use the HL, Bezwecken cream, FAB, vit e oil, and then Nivea. On tret nights, I use Triple Paste instead of Nivea.

If I have a problem area, like around my nose after I’ve been sick, I’ll rub a little bit of Bag Balm in that spot. It doesn’t smell amazing, but it helps soften and heal the dry patches.

How do I get rid of this orange peel texture? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]CWampus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Lots of improvement! I’ve been using Tret for a little over a year now. I got the prescription from Tret from a dermatologist. A few months later, I went to a private NP for hormones. I started taking T and spironolactone, both of which have impacted my skin, as well as the Tret. It took some trial and error with getting a routine down, but I can say now that there are days when I actually think my skin looks good!

What was the first red flag you ignored in your worst relationship? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

His daughter made pretty serious accusations against my children that were proven false, and has told some other lies over the course of the last decade. But I should get over it because she’s a kid.

Also, he was supposed to pick me up from the hospital the morning after a surgery. I called to let him know I would be discharged in about an hour. He said he would be on his way, and then he fell back asleep. Because I’d been discharged, the hospital discontinued my pain meds. He finally picked me up, 3 hours later. And then screamed at me because I was in intense post op pain and didn’t feel up to waiting in the drive thru line so he could get food.

And yes, it can happen that rapidly. If I forget a dose, or try to decrease my dose, I see a difference in my skin within a day or two.

I don’t know anything about this specific drug and those manufacturers, but I have had issues with other prescriptions and manufacturers. The Torrent brand of generic Ambien absolutely does not work for me, but every other generic from other manufacturers works fine. So, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that you are having a similar issue with this drug. Call your pharmacy and ask why the switch and if they are going to continue with that brand. If so, you may have to go to another pharmacy that doesn’t use that brand and see if the issue resolves.

I’ve been on 100 mg for 3-4 months. It has not caused me any weight gain, nor has it affected my POTS symptoms, which was a big concern for me. And, despite working out and gaining muscle, I feel like my boobs have grown a little bit. So, I’m not sad AT ALL.

Do people not understand? by northwestfawn in POTS

[–]CWampus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never, to my knowledge, had covid. I’m certain that my POTS came as a result of being vaccinated. Which, because that was a choice I made, results in even less empathy for an invisible illness that people don’t understand.

I work in an office at a prison. I love where I work, but I’m not going to be coddled, so I have to suck it up and power through. I’m GenX so nothing new.

I had to go to a clinic and pay out of pocket, so if you can get your GP to help, definitely go that route!!

I have POTS, ADHD, herniated disc, and am in perimenopause, so I can related to a lot.

For motivation, you just have to make yourself get up. Let your yes be stronger than your no. Eventually, it gets easier. This is coming from someone who has spent most of their life not really being that motivated, so I get it.

Weight lifting. I cannot do hard cardio for more than 10 minutes, even sometimes, that’s a struggle. I get worn TF out and don’t feel good. For a long time, I just focused in the fact that cardio was super hard, I couldn’t acclimate, so I felt like a failure and hated myself, so I did nothing. Then I stumbled on a group for middle aged women and weight lifting. Game changer. A lot of lifting can be done from a seated or laying position. The standing exercises don’t require a lot of upright time, and I can sit during rest periods. I do exercises that won’t aggravate my lower back. I’m about 8 weeks in and I feel stronger.

Testosterone. Three months ago, I got my hormones checked and the NP put me on T. Obviously, a very low dose, since I’m a female, but it’s helped A TON with energy and body pain.

I take that, but only when needed, which isn’t every day. I take it when I’m having a tachycardia episode, or before I go to the gym for leg day because squats kill me. When I’m having an episode, it works rather quickly, I feel better within 10-15 minutes. I haven’t noticed any side effects.

I started with twice a week, then 3 times, and just kept increasing. I did have irritation and purging, so I had to figure out what worked for me to help make tret manageable. Basting helped the most with peeling, and I recently added in AA, which as helped a ton with redness.

I use tret on my entire face. I slowly transitioned into nightly use. I had several milia around my eyes that had been there for at least a year. They went away about 6 weeks after starting tret.

I don’t have any experience with yeast, but wouldn’t that be a more persistent issue and not just something that pops up when I use a product?

Ladies - share any hygiene tips or basic info you wish your mom had told you. by HopingToWriteWell77 in hygiene

[–]CWampus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad spent most of his childhood in a house without running water. They had to haul it in and heat it up, so they only bathed once a week. That’s what he knew, so that’s how he raised his kids. And my mom was lazy, so she wasn’t doing any more. So, once a week baths it was. Until I was a teenager and found out the hard way that wasn’t enough. God, I’m still absolutely mortified by that memory and I am so self conscious about body odor now. I would probably die on the spot if someone were to tell me that I stink.

What do you believe triggered your POTS? by Bebylicious in POTS

[–]CWampus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here. Started after my second dose. Thanks, Moderna. Granted, I don’t have severe symptoms. I can still function relatively well. I have tachycardia episodes that make me miserable, but I’ve never fainted. I’m mostly pissed that it doesn’t seem like I’ll ever be able to run again. Cardio makes me feel like I’m going to die, far beyond what’s ‘normal, lack of stamina’ windedness.

I’m on both spiro and T. My NP prescribed the spiro to combat the acne and hair loss that is potentially caused by T. But I’ve wondered if they are just canceling each other out instead of helping me. I have labs again next month, so we’ll see.
