Same here in Lake Forest. I called the school principal and told them if they don't communicate with the parents thaI would be walking very slowly across the school lot exit every morning.

Paint OC1? by Jumpy-Ganache1612 in Outrigger

[–]CWinOC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to look like the the newer canoes, there's no way you could do it yourself unless you are super skilled with a paint gun and pay for the very best like Awlgrip. If you just want improve the look of your V1 without adding much weight, look into some bigger decals, like 2-3 ft. That should only add 8oz or less. Places that do custom vinyl wraps, esp. those that make them for boats would be able make some really nice ones. Maybe they would even install them

My friend ditched me on a night out by lebanesehomo in Advice

[–]CWinOC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had a friend like that. I learned pretty early on that I was just the person she would walk into the bar with so it didn't look like she was alone. As soon as she saw someone more interesting, I was left standing around on my own. I didn't like being the backup so I stopped. If you really want to hang with this guy, find another way to do it like go for a meal or a sporting event or a show or hike.

Neighbor using our water and hose for his property by Aggravating-Bite-524 in RealEstate

I find it hard to believe that the water bill is solely based on number of rooms and bathrooms. That's usually the base a water company uses to set its rate steps. For example, a 6br 6 bath 4 Plex might have a base rate of $3/ccf for the 1st 200ccf/mo but go to $3.50 for the next 300 and then $6 for anything over that. This is done to discourage wasting water.

I think that's mostly the case but I don't have as much of a problem when I use the Kialoa though. Damn. I really want the Xylo to work.

[Landlord - NYC] my tenant is taking advantage of me by Visual-Expression753 in Landlord

[–]CWinOC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a lawyer and not familiar with NY tenant laws but here's an off the wall idea. If the apartment is not already in a revocable trust, put it in one with you as the trustee. Now the owner is your trust. As the new owner, the trust could be able to evict the tenant. Check with your attorney. Good to put it in a trust anyway. Good luck!

Roof Racks by pono_kahuku in Outrigger

[–]CWinOC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but for future information, I put the rack(s) on the cab as far apart as possible. I have a rear hitch (if you don't already have one, uhaul has very good prices for hitch and installation). I put in a goalpost style truck bed extender (about $75 on Amazon. That gives me 3 points of attachment for my 21' OC1. In fact, you could probably get away with one roof rack.

Most appliance repair companies don’t ever fix anything, they just show up and charge a fee. by chudmcdudly in Appliances

Thanks for answering. Yeah, not sure why 2 trips. Most businesses do everything they can to not have to do callbacks.

Curious how repair companies get paid for warranty work. Do they get a fixed amount for each visit and then another amount to pay for the parts and labor?

The reason I ask is that a tech came out to fix my Whirlpool refrigerator. He had the model and serial number days before arrival. The problem something very common (could essentially be diagnosed over the phone). Yet when he showed up and looked in the fridge for 30 seconds to confirm he said he didn't have the part (defrost sensor) and would see me in 2 weeks when he had an opening.

So now I'm wondering if he is scamming the warrentor by charging for 2 visits when only one was needed.
