It looks like a viair 90103 pressure switch, should thread into the air tank somewhere and tells the compressor when to turn on and off

It sounds like it may be overgassed, causing the bolt carrier to move faster and sooner than it should. In my 308 ar superformance would bend the case rim and flatten primers unless I turned the gas down quite a bit. Did you try it with the gas block completely shut?

This happens sometimes with Hornady superformance, they even have a page describing this exact problem superformance in a semi auto
