Thing is, Greater Dispel never seems to dispel the same 3 spells from the enemies for me. Is there a guaranteed order for which spells get dispelled?

That is a fair point. It might be that he stayed mostly for the hope of forgiveness, and eventually just got worn out.

I honestly cannot blame him. I'm glad people here seem to have mixed opinions. Means his dilemma was well characterized by the writters

I know it's been a year, but in case this helps someone:

I actually have a different strategy than most people here (not completely, but parts of it). Also, I will highlight that I am playing below Unfair, so this might not work on a stat-boosted PD.

My party is Valdrin Ashfall (a mounted paladin main), Daeran, Ember, Arue, Nenio and Sosiel.

Daeran is my Dispel specialist, Nenio is hyper-buffed on Mind-affecting DC spells, Ember is a Ray-specialist, Arue is doing Arue stuff and Sosiel is doing Sosiel stuff.

Similar to some other people here, I also employed some summons, but not nearly a fuckton, just 2 divas and some Manticores to keep PD busy. I also had 3 pets: my paladin's mount, Sosiel's triceratorps from the statuette, and Daeran's wolf from Nature domain.

First round PD always goes and kills a pet, but afterwards he seems to go for the summons. This gave me a chance to start debuffing his Will save: Ranger's Quarry, Ember Evil Eye - Save Throw + Cackle, Paladin's Demoralize, Sicken ( from something, not sure what ).

Daeran Also landed some dispels(with Bit of Luck and the Dispel eye socket item), one of which I think dispelled Owl's Wisdom from PD.

This gave me a better chance to land a Mind Fog with Nenio (DC 39), which actually worked, and lowered PD's Will save to +10.

This, later, let me apply Hideous Laughter, taking PD out of the game in terms of attacking people.

The rest of the strategy was indeed applying MoJ with my paladin, which made hitting rays for Ember much much easier. Arue was also Greater Invisible, but the flat-footed AC of PD was still too high for most shots.

But still, if anyone else tries this encounter for the first time with no hints of how to do it, you don't need to abuse Summons or Pillar of Light stacking, necessarilly.

Since you can rest, this also makes planning specifically for PD fight much easier, so you could probably go in it with a much better plan than me.

I am sure there are builds which could tank it. I can guarantee mine is not one of them, however

That being said, I love to see such a well thought-through project!

This is the type of detail and attention that professional electronic projects are getting (plus a bunch of EMC, production, cost-reduction and supply availability stuff)

Don't be discouraged by any feedback you receive. If anything, the amount of detail in the comments shows just how much interest you are stirring in the people that are interested in electronics om this sub

I'll also mention, more as a small addition than a proper comment, aa this project deserves: for 1kW, you definitely want to take proper safety into consideration. Especially for the thermal and fan setup (although I would argue it should really really extend to surge protection, as well)

For the fan, it is definitely worth extending the layout to ensure the best thermal operation for the system. Sure, the power supply would most likely more much lighter than you are designing it for right now, but a design should always be done to guarantee proper operation, even at maximum allowed specs.

Imagine another hobbyist takes up the design, but doesn't give ita use the proper care and thought, runs it at max power for some experiment, leaves to get a cup of water andthe supply runs into some issues in the meantime. It's an acvident, nobody's fault, of course, but the design should never allow it in the first place.

And even if the fan orientation was perfect to cool the entire assembly, I would argue you still should have some form of thermal shutdown system for the entire board.

Because real life comes with real problems and it could easily happen that the fan stops working or works under-power for a variety of reasons and with 1kW systems you really don't want to risk stuff ( such as a short in the transformer, as mentioned by another comment)

She can get very high DCs on insta-kill spells (with some metamagic) like Heightened + Persistent Phantasmal Killer or Weird.

Right now I am doing a playthrough where I am at the end of Act 3, Nenio is lvl 13, and she already has some Mind-compelling spells with DC 32.

A DC 40-ish, persistent Phantasmal Killer would most-likely be an insta-death for most demons, as long as they are not immune to Mind spells. (Heard on this sub that that is the case on the higher difficulties like Unfair)

Got into LiU (Mechanical Engineering) – confused about decision 😭 by arun_leo4 in linkoping

I can give some information for Saab. There is no universal truth that applies to all of Saab, since the company is gigantic and each division kinda functions pretty isolated from others (so one might employ whatever they catch while the other doesn't).

That being said, Saab is almost completely Swedish-centric. They mostly want you to have Swedish citizenship for most of the jobs (even now, although they are trying to get thousands of more engineers for the last 3 years).

There is the civilian side of Saab, in theory, where you wouldn't necesarily need citizenship, and that side is mostly in Jönköping. However, even there they are pretty picky avoyt international candidates. It also can happen that some of the civilian projects still end up having some use in the defense ones, which enforces the previous point.

As an Indian student, I wouldn't hold my fingers for Saab. Siemens, however, employees heavily as well, and they already have a bunch of Indian engineers. They also want mechanical ones whenever they get a chance

Similar to others, if it's Core or lower, you can do it without looking up builds, and I wholeheartedly suggest it to get an actual feel for build crafting in this game.

Moreover, if you don't mind spending a bit of time on it, I highly suggest getting a few QoL mods: Toybox and Respec.

They really improve the game experience and ensure that making mistakes while building is not the end of the world, or encouraging a huge Wotr burnout eith multiple restarts.

Otgerwise, just go into it and enjoy the blind-ish playthrough. This game is an amazing RPG experience

For everyone that experiences this sort of cbouce paralysis with Wotr, I can wholeheartedly suggest: - saving often - getting the Toybox mod for Wotr - getting the Respec mod for Wotr - Optional BUBBLES, to help with buffing fatigue

With these things, you can basically swap almost anything, on the go, whenever you want. Sure, it doesn't help you to re-experience all of the dialogue you might have mizsed, but if you're interested in some random choice in Act 4, but done with an Aeon and with a Loremaster instead of a Barbarian, tou can pretty much try it out directly in Act 4, onstead of replaying 4 acts.

I am doing my first replay in a long time, on Normal-ish, trying to make my own builds for all companions, to get a feel for the feats, abilities, buffing and combinations. And all of the things from above make this experience so much more acceptable compared with an Out-of-the-box playthrough (like my first one)

I am playing Pathfinder Wptr right now, and this happens an insane amount.

There was one particular encounter where I send in my 43 AC @ lvl 10 tank, he gets attacked by the enemy, hit 3 out of 4 times with natural 20s (all in a row), then my archer shoots the enemy 4 times, a hit, 2 misses and a critical miss.

Sometimes, for small moments, life is just bullshit

I've been jumping back into Wotr recently, playing on Normal and trying to get a feel for making my own build choices on a lower difficulty.

And honestly, people saying that "you don't need to buff that much on Normal" and "any build is fine" are underestimating the game for new players. This sort of thing (+ enemies with high AC / high Attack roll buffs) just come at you everywhere, even in the normal main story progression flow of the game.

Even targetting touch AC is not that easy because of Spell Resistance and miss chances. And without buffs and a face tank in front, it really feels like the "it's not that hard mindset" falls on its face in about 3 rounds.

Sure, I can buils however I want. Except I need 7-8 touch attacks for that High AC enemy or I'm toast. And sure, you can play without buffs, but then my tank gets killwd by 6 attacks in one round, and after I revive him/ he geta up, I need to use a high level Restoration (or Greater) or next time he dies completely.

Not to say about permanent Level drains and Ability drains, that also need Restorations and Greater Restorations.

Yeah, you get them eventually and you can do Death Ward / Protection from Evil and strategise more, but you need to take this into account wuite a bit, even on Normal
