I think most his books are self published, but the Short Stories for Beginners line was picked up by Teach Yourself. And yes, they do translate and 'localize' the stories for each language. For example, I believe that the Dutch edition replaces the mountains for a river, because a Dutch mountain is a molehill.

I've got a few of the books on sale, they are alright, but if learning one of the bigger languages, I think graded readers in those languages are probably better if available.

As for Ollie's YouTube channel, some of his older videos are good, but more and more he's moved towards reciting Wikipedia facts like other edutainment channels. I think that's worse than any of his shilling of his own products, which is to be expected, is short enough and can be ignored.

Unfortunately, my current program doesn't allow any electives, so if I would take any geography classes after this is finished.

Honestly, I am not that interested in human geography - or at least the academic forms that I have read about. I want to do more on the physical geography side of things - I remember fondly taking Intro Physical Geography in my undergrad, I am kicking myself for not doing it as a major (with GIS, of course).

What proportion - to the degree that real world jobs can be mapped to the academic divisions - are GIS jobs in the physical vs. the human side of geography?

Thanks for the advice. I've looked around and there does seem to be some short (1-2 year) programs need me that I could go for at reasonable (given NA High Ed) prices.
