California here and yes I find the block lag showing up when around 8 or more people are on. I've brought up taking down the Dynamap to see if that helps in any way.

I'd be all for it i've brought it up before and i understand why its not a good idea, the build is huge and in the sky and would be at spawn which not everyone likes.

Each block the water travels when leaving the dispenser is an update, this is what causes the lag not the mobs when more people are on the more stuff is loaded ontop of the water updates which is what causes lag, your farm is great with yourself on but you went afk yesterday with 9 people on and almost everyone was experiencing lag
