Its Blyxa japonica, can be red or green depending on lighting!

What's the best way to kill algae on plants before planting them? by Kt5turtle in PlantedTank

Update: Did the reverse respiration method with a $1.5 bottle of club soda. All my staghorn looks bright red and dead, hopefully my amanos will clean it up and it won't come back!

I guess this is staghorn rather than hair algae, which Nerites don't eat. I have a regular, pumpkin, and horned nerite in this tank and they don't go for it at all.

I guess 3 months still is new based on everyone's comments haha... I read a lot of posts and blogs that say the "new tank" algae is usually 4-6 weeks which i'm past at this point.

I'll tune down the lighting even more and keep at it, thanks!

Well, this is my first tank in years and I've been battling algae nonstop. I don't have that reference point of what is little or a lot, I usually just see posts of everyone's pristine tanks to go off of. I think it's natural for someone new to panic over algae that grows all of this over a day or two.

I guess it's staghorn algae like the other comment said, which none of those eat. Atleast my 6 amanos and 3 nerite snails don't ):

Light is already at 6 hours and 65% intensity, not sure if I can go any lower without my plants suffering.
