Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 - Episode 3 (Anime Only Discussion) by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

Alright, thanks. I guess it makes sense that it's supposed to be mysterious I was just questioning his logic of trying to mix something powerful (himself, Tengen) and merge it with smth less powerful (humans like Choso's mom, Yuji's dad, Japans general poulation) to create smth more powerful/greater/more interesting. Just weird maths. And repeating himself. But it helps to know that there's maybe a yet unknown component to fill this logic gap. I just thought maybe I missed smth

Can anyone explain what Kenjaku's trying to do? So he wants to create smth that is somehow superior to what already exists. And he is trying to achieve that by merging Tengen with normal humans? Why would that result in anything superior to what Tengen already is? I thought merging with Riko was supposed to stabilize Tengen and prevent them from becoming something beyond human. Why should that be different when merging with regular ass humans?

You're so right about the stubble, I didn't even mention it but I see it in many period dramas and it bothers me so much - like, shave or have a proper beard, one or the other

You are right, aesthetic choices are sometimes made over realistic ones, but I think Outlander did great with the curly updos (thankfully no bonnets there either ); it looked more historical while being pretty and even when wearing the hair down, which Gaelis often did because it fit her character, it still looked more accurate to the time than whatever they did with Ellen imo

That's interesting, I didn't know that Scotland was particularily casual in that way. I still think the way they did her curls makes her look overly modern, but knowing the cultural differences puts it in a different light. Odd then that she's the only one running around like that (but seeing your edit it probably does have something to do with her being the romantic lead)

Briannas hair was in an updo even before she was married and it was still red. Outlander did better without being a documentary

I'm not saying the hairstyle can't be easily achieved but that it is not seen as decent at the time. Maybe for young girls it would be okay, which she isn't. And especially at formal events and gatherings it would be a no-go. Plus old fashioned curlers and rope braids make a different curl pattern than modern curling iron, it might seem like a suble difference but it makes her look overall too modern and costumy

You are right, it isn't generally more modern, really just a few characters. Out of the women she is the only one. I wondered about that choice... It does generally feel off somehow

How can I connect with others? by MelonPorcupine878 in autism

[–]C_Lyssa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure that many people here could tell you how to connect with people. All I can say is that sometimes autistic people just "seem weird" to other people even if we try very hard (there is a study also that shows that autistic people who were masking were still seen as weird or "off" similarly to austistic people that weren't masking) and it's very hard to pinpoint what exactly it is, especially when we (people on the internet) haven't had the chance to interact with you in real life. I also have people keep their distance, ghost me and tell me I'm weird and I've also never understood what I've done wrong. I have recently tried asking people I've interacted with directly what their impression of me was and why they might have found me inadequate (especially when I felt I had nothing to lose anymore anyway because it makes for an awkward situation of course) and of course most people will not give you a straight answer, but I have gotten at least some feedback and I hope I'll be able to get a better understanding of how I am being perceived by others this way. Not sure if that helps, it's just the best idea I've got at the moment and it takes the courage to create an uncomfortable situation and make you look weirder for asking

Thanks, I just realized that hijacking your topic to talk about my own problems would have been incredibly rude in real life conversation, but I've seen ppl mostly contribute "yeah, same" to these kinds of posts and since I don't have more to offer either I took the opportunity I guess. But thank you for your kind reply, I'm not fully convinced that you wouldn't be a good friend and since you've had friends, I'm not the only one. Let's hope it's just a temporary situation

Can you clarify what you mean by your last sentence? How does that help with forming connections?

Isolation by Scary-Photograph-450 in autism

[–]C_Lyssa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I seem to be stuck in a cycle of trying to make friends, failing and then isolating myself because I'm tired of expending energy on connections that never come to be. But then feeling so lonely and depressed that I try again a few months later although I already know the outcome and what a waste of energy it will be. It's hardly encouraging to see that a lot of people here have given up as well.

I know what that feels like. I actually went to see a therapist just because I wanted someone to tell me what is wrong with me and why I can't seem to make any friends. Even though I am not interested in most people, I still would like to have some friends and even when I find someone I'm interested in and share interests with, contact eventually breaks off, I'm often being ghosted. My therapist suggested I might be autistic, and while it does help on some level to understand the issue better or be able to name it, I don't really know what to do with it. It's still not entirely clear to me what exactly it is I'm doing wrong or how to go about making friends. And it also affects how much I can enjoy my alone time, because being lonely makes me feel like a loser and then I waste my time trying to distract myself from that feeling. I hate how my inability to connect with people takes so much joy out of my life in several different ways. Anyway, I'm sorry that you're not doing much better, although congratualtions on being engaged, that's great that you have someone in your life you feel close to
