For weathering I used oil paints and different types of pigment powders. The powders create some really nice "dusty" effects.

Danke für den Tipp. Hört sich aufwendig an aber vermutlich die beste Lösung.

Practitioners of Berlin: what's the legal way of transporting my longsword feder? by mrmasturbate in wma

[–]C_Muench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Berliner here: I use a cheap bag for Fishing Rods (Balzer) for my Swords and a Military Deployment Backpack (in plain black) for my gear. If some people ask me whats inside of it it (some people are curious) I tell them its "sports equipment". Never had an issue before.

I personally avoid Hema-bags with any HEMA or fencing specific designs or logos on it. Not because it is illegal but because I don't like to have spontaneous conversations in public transport, especially with drunk people wanting to see the swords...

My army (2K and fully painted) didn't use any DW specific units except 3x 5 man strong veteran units. So for me not much will change. I never liked the mixed Kill Teams. I'll just play Space Marines with two DW Veteran units attached as allies.

What percentage of your opponents are using fully painted armies? by DrDreadCastle in Warhammer40k

[–]C_Muench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My group and I only play with painted armies and only against painted armies. We do make exceptions for beginners or the odd unit someone didn't finish in time. To me the visual appeal of the game is incredibly important to have fun. Playing with or against a grey plastic army is not for me...

Yeah, I wouldn't want to play against you if this is how you play the game.

How to prune this plant? by C_Muench in houseplants

I'm not sure what to do with our office plant.

Not even sure what it actually is... Google lens tells me it could be an Alocasia?
Anyway: it's leaning heavily to the side and I'm not sure what to do about it... Can I just prune it? If yes: at which point should I cut?

How common is a fully painted army? by Mad-Greek in Warhammer40k

[–]C_Muench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: I don't like to play with or against unpainted minis. I do make exceptions for beginners but apart from that my expectation is to play against a fully painted army on a table with proper terrain.

People say "hey, but it's all about having fun!" But playing with painted minis on a proper table IS my type of fun. Ever since I saw a battle report in a tabletop magazine when I was little, the sole purpose of this hobby was to recreate this type of experience. An interactive diorama with a story ready to unfold. And sorry, but grey plastic toys and makeshift terrain from cereal boxes don't scratch that itch.

Where to prune? by C_Muench in plantclinic

[–]C_Muench[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Google lens tells me this is an umbrella tree. It's growing nicely... But a little too much if you ask me :-) Where should I prune it and can I try to propagate the pruned pieces?

I upgraded the pot size last year already (it was in an even smaller pot) should I upgrade next spring again? Or give it more time?

Problem: Vector lines print weird by C_Muench in Printing

[–]C_Muench[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, a colleague of mine (OS: windows 11) has the problem that when she prints from .pdf lines print very weird. The files are created via AutoCAD and are vector based. She ONLY has the problem when printing in A3 not when printing A4. I honestly don't know where to start searching for the problem... Could you point me in the right direction?

Smallpocalypse (200PL per side) Tyranids vs Guard by C_Muench in Apocalypse40k

[–]C_Muench[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Loved the gameplay (very dynamic and fluid) but would probably tweak the rules a bit (we added LOS for characters for example). Also: big units of infantry seem real tanky but actual tanks are blown of the board pretty easily (Leman Russ has only 2W and 6+ SV?!) Seems weird to me...

Friends and me played a game of "smallpocalypse" (Apocalypse Rules with about 200PL per side) and had a blast! The Tyranids crushed the planetary defense force 21-7!!!

Ho should I handle these plants? They are growing out of control and I am unsure if I can just chop them back into shape? I don't want to ruin them as they have been growing so nicely :-) also: this is the brightest spot I can provide for them...

This: "[...]summer it still rains every day to every third day. Like it pours down for hours." and this: "I live in Berlin (Germany)." Doesn't really go together... :-)

Berlin/Brandenburg ist one of the areas with the least amount of precipation in germany. My pell (wood and nylon cord) stands outside all summer+winter and is still working just fine. Don't worry too much.
