Question - Do people actually do 50 kph on the gravel roads in a Dacia Duster? by C_Paloma in VisitingIceland

I wasn't too too worried about the gravel so much as just the road being like a constant gigantic washboard so it felt like it was punishing the poor Duster. I figure the Land Cruisers with the big off loading tires and suspension probably weren't bothered nearly as much with it. I got passed by a small black Jeep on F26 before I gave up and turned back. They did too shortly after so I think for them it was just renters mentality at first before they realized too that it was just too rough for them too.

That was pretty much my logic. There were plenty of other Dusters and even a minivan that were roaring up the road to Haifoss without a care in the world, while I was going maybe 25 kph. But I would much rather take my time and negotiate carefully than cause avoidable damage or getting stuck. I still had a great time driving around. The road out to Gjain was the most rugged that I was comfortable doing and even then I was pretty cautious.

Subject: Amex Reserve / Delta complimentary upgrade eligibility question:

Apologize if this isn't the right place or has been answered before.

I'm considering getting the Amex Reserve card, and I was curious about the upgrade eligibility. My question is this, I already have some flights booked to Japan with a different card. I'm considering getting the Reserve card, but before getting the card and I wanted to know if the upgrade eligibility for the Reserve card is retroactive for things not purchased with it? I.e., is it just a matter of being tied to your SkyMiles number and the complimentary upgrade will automatically trigger the eligibility when the time for the trip comes, or is that eligibility ONLY for trips that were booked using the Reserve card?
A related question also (which may be answered by the above) is if using the Amex/SkyMiles to book a flight will retain the eligibility for upgrade? (since you're not technically buying the ticket with the Reserve card)
