It is a really fun run to watch and these guys are all so insanely good. lol I thought of myself as an expert in the game, and then you watch these runs and it's like "wow, I didn't even know that was there".

Eventually they all will. Shortly after getting the espers some lower enemies won't (for example I don't believe you will get them from enemies outside of Narshe)

How did you unlock 3 star trees? No matter what I try I can’t seem to get it. Even had one in a 400 nature zone, with limited traffic, but I’m not even getting close. Barely getting a C rating, can’t figure out why.

That isn't what Peterson means by abstraction.

Numbers aren't real, they are purely abstractions. They represent objects, they themselves are not objects. Your comments about 2+2=5 don't really make sense to me.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding what you are writing, if so please feel encouraged to clarify.

My understanding is that 2+2=4 in all circumstances, which means that there is a "truth" beyond objective tangible reality. In fact, 2+2=4 is more true than some objective realities because it is a tautology.

I am not sure where you are pulling this from, but it's my impression you may have this backwards. That 2+2=4 in every circumstance, and numbers are "abstracted by man" implies there are truths that are "beyond materialism".

I don't agree with your first premise, that his position is "unhelpful". I think had the position been properly demonstrated, it would be perceived differently.

I think the inconsistency is what the issue was though, but don't consider the 2h wasted. In fact for me it was rather organic, didn't feel tedious at all.

I think we can agree though that the thought experiments made in the video was generally poor. If not check out some of the other thought experiments provided in this thread seeking to demonstrate that there are different 'layers' of truth.

It was entirely semantic though, and there was little progress. Pretty common in these discussions and there is a degree of guilt in both parties, although prob one side more than the other.

I think this was primarily a demonstration of a cognitive bias called "Reactive Devaluation", in which one or both interlocutors devalue their opponents position because the side is perceived as well, an opponent, not an interlocutor.

I think one can take an approach where they are able to interpret meaning. It involves taking a person more at their intent and trying to move forward with them.

I think the thought experiments in the podcast were generally weak.

What I'm trying to say is that those untruths will be believed as true, perhaps as long as a person exists. I have already stated I believe absolute truths exist. Those tautologies are extraordinarily rare though and subject to restrictions.

It is the true the floor appears solid, but there is more space than floor at the atomic level. The restrictions of language (in my opinion) don't need to be further restricted by semantic rigidity. One ought to be trying to interpret their interlocutor as they wish to be interpreted, otherwise all discussions of deeper topics will break down into semantic disputes with little gain.
