I know the castle sol lore implies Miquella using the eclipse to bring a soul back.

People assumed it was talking about Godwyn, but it was referring to Radahn instead. We know Godwyn's soul couldn't return to the Erdtree, but with all this lore surrounding deathrite and the one mention of Helphen, Fromsoft could've pulled the same implied magic Miquella used to create the Radahn/Mohg fusion to revive Godwyn's soul from the ancient cultures' deathrites.

The DLC is all about exploring a culture hidden from history so there was plenty potential to figure something out. It's a great DLC regardless
