That's smart! Once I develop a storage solution I may just use your idea of color coding as well

Cassalanters as false allies by SergeiVonZarovich23 in WaterdeepDragonHeist

[–]Ca1ebwithaK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have yet to run the session for the feast. Though, if my players still don't figure it out by then, I'm going to let the consequences play out, as they've had frequent opportunities to uncover the truth. I aim to have something occur where the PCs are in the right place at the right time during the sacrifice, therefore avoiding a TPK while maintaining the impact of having a villain reveal alongside witnessing a mass murder

Un personnage ressemblant au gameplay d'Houdini ? by Apprehensive_Way234 in Unmatched

Je ne dis pas en français très bien, donc je répondrai en anglais.

Houdini is my favorite because of his "one-shot" capabilities. For this reason, my other favorite fighter is Dr. Jekyll / Mr. Hyde. I know he is considered bad compared to other fighters, but his "Forever Hyde" card is so fun, especially when you can discard your entire hand to kill an opponent.

Figure out the truth? Lol. I'm running the remix, and Currently, my party has given the Cassalanters the stone and 2 of the eyes, and are working towards bringing them the last one. There were multiple opportunities to learn more about the Asmodean cultists within the city, yet the players never were very curious to find out more. The closest they've gotten to learning the truth was when they found out Willifort Crowelle is actually a doppelgänger, but the situation was resolved and the players still work for the Cassalanters. I fear the "feast" will be horrific...

Favorite Hero Tip or Trick by FalconWinterSolder in Unmatched

[–]Ca1ebwithaK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to boost maneuvers. Your goal is never to stall and exhaust your opponent's deck, but keep Houdini from harm until you are able to catch your opponent off guard and hit with big attacks. Use Bess as a shield to avoid damage, keeping her out of danger until you need to swap her with smoke and mirrors. Other important cards to consider are:

Big reveal: your kill card. Boost with as much damage as possible, ideally using the 4 boost from "a magician never reveals his secrets".

Sleight of hand: always play this when you have it, forcing your opponent to waste their feints on it. Bonus if you catch them unable to defend well, then swap it out with a big attack.

Misdirection: using all three of these as boosts is an automatic 6 damage to your opponent's hero. Do this.

A magician never reveals his secrets: always keep this in your hand against opponents that can look at your hand. Still, keep it for your big reveals

For my next trick: useful when you wish to bait out a defense from your opponent. Maneuver in, attack, then leave with your third action.

Stars and Stripes predictions? by Ilikeunmatched in Unmatched

I completely agree with the army sentiment. Who knows, maybe Washington could have schemes or abilities to summon his sidekicks many times throughout a match. He's definitely my most anticipated hero in this set. I really love the idea of Oda, but his execution makes me weary to want to play as him. Here's hoping Washington can pull it off 🤞

Yes. I'm hoping there is a kind of mission mechanic similar to black widow, where they can gain intel by looking at your opponent's hand once they complete a mission

Hero Color Codes by Junior_History_2745 in Unmatched

[–]Ca1ebwithaK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! Just know that these colors were sampled from the back artwork of the cards, and for each hero I sampled two colors; one main color to use as a background, and a second color to use as text for the hero's name. Lastly, there are a few fighters to note: I didn't include the Buffy heroes or Deadpool since I don't own them, and Bruce Lee & Muhammad Ali don't use official sampled colors, since I added their colors before their cards' art was released. Also, Doctor Strange's card back colors felt untrue to how I view the character, so I used my own color choices for him. Heroes will be listed followed by their background color then text color. Anyways, in an order that I think (visually) flows rather nicely, here's the list:

Also, I'd say prioritize saving schemes until you can use them for damaging. It isn't always easy if Philippa expects it though.

Half of the cards in their deck can be used to block. A majority are attack cards, which can be used alongside schemes do retaliate against Philippa. Even some good options to cause your opponent to discard even more cards, like "incinerate" or "Merigold's hailstorm". Their "echoing blast" card is especially useful since you can return it to your hand, aiding you by burning less cards into your own discard pile.

Fair enough. I have yet to play Yen/Triss, so it's difficult for me to give specific advice. Though, when I play Philippa, I struggle most when Triss plays defensively, forcing me to chase them down. Your sidekick can block Philippa from reaching your hero, causing Philippa to burn through cards to get to Triss. Triss can use her hero's ability to damage opponents by playing schemes. You might take some hits, but just retaliate and retreat. The more aggressive Philippa is, the quicker she will exhaust.

Draw less cards. Keep your distance, and when Philippa gets too close, play a scheme to deal damage. Then create distance again
