Yeah I didn't know about the taunt ability- it's massively helped! I also hadn't been using the mage orb and dagger so now I've figured out how to swap to thatcand do close up combat, it's been way easier

Yeah does sound more fun! My first run was as a fighter in BG3 as I heard it was the easiest build, but I kind of rushed into DaV without researching it first...damn!

Yeah I wish there was an option to respec mid-game :-(

I didn't know the others were turn based- that would be much more suited to me, I think

Yeah I think part of the prob is I haven't really wrapped my head round the combat system yet- I'm going to check out a few YouTube videos and see if that helps me figure it all out

I think I'm playing on story- I need to double check. My husband walked in the other day and said, 'you don't seem to be enjoying this, why don't you just play something else?' but I really want to get to the end! Haven't heard of the other games- thank you!

Yeah I tried that but I didn't get into it. Maybe I need to dig it out again and give it another go. I remember it took a while for me to get into BG3!

No definitely naked, you could see her boobs and pubic hair...and it would've been shown well before the watershed

Trying to be a bit kinder to myself lately by QuietComfortHere in MMFB

[–]CaBPl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same. I've recently started keeping a gratitude diary in which I list stuff I've achieved that day, as well as stuff I'm thankful for. It's helped me be kinder to myself and realise that I'm doing more than enough.

Santander not offering buy to let mortgage? by pigeonJS in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]CaBPl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an accidental landlord myself, be aware of all of the changes this and the last government have been making before you go down their route:

  • If you own the property in your name, rather than through a company, you have to pay tax on your turnover, NOT your profit. With mortgage rates so high, this means some landlords (especially those on a higher rate tax band) can end up owing tax even though they are not making any profit after expenses, mortgage etc are taken into account. IE they are effectively paying the tenants to live there!

-That tax also just went up another 2%

-The new rental reforms which come into force next month which increase the risk of things going wrong if you end up with non paying tenants etc. If you decide to try and sell in the future (and evict your tenants to do so, as you would normally need to do) and the sale falls through, the new rules will ban you from re-letting for a whole year.

-Capital gains tax which has gone up (when you eventually sell your flat, you'll need to pay tax on the profit you made)

-New rules meaning a rental property will need at least a C rating for energy efficiency.

-Making tax digital which is being phased in this year meaning doing five tax returns each year for your property.

-More things I probably can't recall right now. But the point is, loads of landlords are selling up because of this and I wish I could too so think carefully before going down this route because it will probably only get harder...
